I was wondering how many of you use them. Isn't it nasty to wash?? I think they would feel so much better wearing them, but the thought of washing them makes me :Puke I mean I wash and dump poopy dipes, maybe it's not as gross as I think???

I use them (well not until Feb now lol)

LOL! Those were my EXACT thoughts when I was first introduced to the idea. But I have found its no big deal. They are so comfy and I have noticed that my Period was shorter and less heavy after using them for a couple of months. Here is what I do about washing.

I use a 5 QT ice cream bucket. I fill with Cold water, tea tree oil (about 3 drops) and a bit of baking soda. I just leave the pads and bucket under sink. When its time to change I just throw pads in th buckets of water and close it up. When pail is full I throw in with the diaper wash. I do change the water daily. Just dump in toilet (sounds gross but really isn't). I LOVE MY CLOTH PADS!!
I am looking into cloth post partum pads, because I am due in Feb

Good luck to you and here are some website where I have ordered my pads and LOVE THEM!!

Kristens Cloth pads

These are okay but I prefer the all in one design but work just as well

LOVE THESE, and Shannon is great to work with

These are nice too but long wait...

I love my mama cloth(though I haven't gotten to use it in a while), if you have a baby in dipes you can just throw them in with those, that's what I will do.
I don't think it's gross, but I like to have a very positive attitude about my life blood(I call it this because when my kids asked what it was this was my answer, this is my life blood it gave each of you life, when there is no baby who needs it my body sheds itself to prepare itself again). Sorry if TMI.

To tell you the truth I have only used my kiddos old doublers in the past. So not sure I can help with which ones, I just got a Liz's Cloth hemp mama pad in a trade, and it looks great. It is hemp. Lots of mamas prefer an AIO though, that has a fleece or PUL backing to protect from leaks. I guess how many you need depends on how much you want to wash. You can always start off small, try a few different ones out, then kinda figure out how many you need as you go. I would think you would want at least enough for 2 days. Hope we get some mamacloth vetrans in here!
:LOL
