2008 in 2008 (we're decluttering!) - Page 8

Went through BIL's ex GF's old stuff that was in totes in the front living room. Kept some yarn and craft stuff, but got rid of ~200 items (I rounded up because there were a bunch of marbles and other little fiddly things like that).

So getting this thing kicked off with a good start: 200/2008

I also found $12 decluttering my husband's closet. I totally kept it because he wouldn't get out of bed to help me.

Decided to start today. I haven't counted everything yet, but I cleaned out my pantry (looong overdue)
37 items, trashed, recycled, or donated!

So far to go but good for first day 37/2008

If I did that much every day it would be 13,505 items in 2008 If I did that much (37 items) every week this year it would come to 1,924 for the year. Not far from the goal!! That makes it seem more possible to accomplish

So far I've counted 40 items. Woot! There's also a bunch of stuff in the freecycle pile that I haven't yet listed, so I've not yet counted it. Updates on that later, but for now:

I attacked one corner of my office today. Up to 102/2008.

Someone posted a couple of pages back a list of places to donate things. If you have used towels/sheets that you are getting rid of, the Humane Society would be happy to have those as well.

I'm in! I started today but didn't count. I am taking a lot of magazines to Half Price Books to "sell" and I'll count those. Later I will take a photo of my computer room (aak) so y'all can laugh at me.

35 peices of old stained useless clothing to the trash.

Back from Half Price Books. I sold them 61 magazines for a grand total of $2.50. Well, they are out of the house.

Out of curiosity, how do you freecycle things en masse?

I would just put something like "misc items offered - please check list" in the title line and then list all the items in the body of the email.

9 magazines recycled
12 boxes to the recyle bin
13 books to GoodWill
1 pocketbook to Goodwill
1 wallet to Goodwill.
1 calendar to the trash
