OOOH I love this thread!!!

OK ... so, over the weekend I got rid of:

3 bags worth of things, given to my mother, for my brother's children. Various articles of clothing, as well as books. I will estimate on the low side, and say 75 items

Today, one bag worth of stuff to my MILs house (she is like the Goodwill distributor for my family). Low estimate on number of items .. 25

2 infant dresses back to one of my girlfriends, who gave them to me in case I had girl babies.

Grand total for the past 2 days, 102 items

Got rid of kid's Galidors and Knights Kingdom sets, plus some more misc. toys
Went through my "gift box" and cleared out things that haven't been gifted over the last 10 years(?).
Got rid of most of my doilies and girly table runners, inherited, but have NEVER put them out.

The gameboy stuff I sold to a young man who is very excited. The boyscout stuff went back to the scout master and the baby stuff I gave to a friend who wants to make her own baby food but is worried she will mess up. It goes with free personal lessons

I've never heard of this before-what a great idea!! When you propose the 2008 in a year it's actually doable. 2008/12 months = 167.33 per month.
(sorry can't help myself I was an accountant before I stayed home LOL)

I was curious if it was doable as well thats why Im trying it out! Actually Im curious to see if I have 2008 things I could honestly get rid of. We are moving in October so my goal is to get over halfway therere before then. We shall see.

I started out gangbusters this year, then slowed down for awhile, but reached 1250 items by the end of last month. In the last couple weeks I have kicked into decluttering mode again and gotten rid of the following:

26 books donated to library for used book sale
11 dead batteries recycled
38 toys, games, and other kids' items sold
35 misc. items trashed/recycled

New total: 1360/2008
