Does bloody show always happen before labor?

My abdominal cramps from today have morphed into painful contractions, and I really feel that tonight may be the night that baby comes. But up til now I have never noticed my bloody show. What's up with that? Does it always come before? Anyone start labor and never have noticed it?

with all 4 of my labors, i never saw bloody show until after my water broke

but i'm sure its different for everyone.

I saw a bloody show before labor with my first baby, but with the other two it didn't happen before intense labor started. I can't recall if I ever noticed the bloody show at all with them- if so, it did NOT precede the onset of labor.

There's a very, very wide range of normal.

I have never had bloody show before.

I had no bloody show at all until major labor pains with my 2nd birth. All the others were preceded by mucous blobs.

I didn't have bloody show until transition with my first.

I did have bloody show with my second, but not until well after true contractions had started.

I had bloody show before labor started with my first 2 and had it this morning and am pretty sure I'm in labor now. I still think it's the early stages still. My contractions are fairly consistent though with how far apart they are and how long they are lasting and the intensity is increasing a bit. But I'm excited. I hope to have a new baby by sun up
