Dear breastfeeding mom,
We first met in the "toy" area of Cracker Barrel. I was holding my DD and you were holding yours (I think a DS? still too young to tell!!). I complimented you on your child's crankypants (with the skull on the bottom!!), we talked about knitting and my raving jealousy of anyone who can. We smiled at each other and went our seperate ways.
The next time I saw you, you and your SO were being seated a few tables away from us. You had your baby in a sling and I like it! Later, during our meal, I was in the middle of eating my food and nursing DD at the same time. I looked over and realized that you too were nursing!! In public!! With no cover over the baby!! JUST LIKE ME!! I smiled sooo sweetly at you. You saw me and smiled too. You told your SO I was nursing, nodding at me, he turned to look and I smiled at him too.
DP said "Wouldn't it be nice if every single woman you saw feeding her baby was breastfeeding?" and I thought of that lovely deliciousness. Of looking around me and feeling that sense of community. All of us feeding our babies. Smiling at each other.
I just wanted to tell you thanks for that!!
