that I have a history of kidney stones!! I have never passed one during pregnancy, but I did pass on between baby #4 and baby #5, and 5 days after #5 was born. What can I do to prevent me from passing a stone during pregnancy? I know to drink a TON of water, but any other advice? I also had Gestational Diabetes (diet-controlled) with my 5th daughter, so I had to eat more protein than normal...I'm due in the summer...help!!

drink lots of water and go to the bathroom frequently- do not hold it -- dilution is the solution for both stones and infections--
do not drink cola or other sodas diet or otherwise... none nada zip none
what type of stones have you passed? different stones have different preventive treatments.. some need more acid urine some more alkaline , some are caused from infection...

Thank you for your advice; luckily, I do all of those: I despise cola, I drink a ton of water, and I never hold my urine (it feels to irritating to do that)

My stones are calcium oxalate (3mm-4mm); I have (as of last year) 6 remaining in my kidneys. I just want to avoid passing them during pregnancy.
