What does nak mean? I guessed "nursing at night," but that doesn't seem right. Just curious...

nursing at keyboard

BTW, totally not a stupid question. It took me a long time to figure that one out. Oh, and here's a list of acronyms decoded.

Thank you! Wow, what a list! And, duh, I just realized that "nursing at night" makes absolutely no sense since, last time I checked, that time of day does not begin with K!

Thankyou for asking that question. I knew what it meant, just not the words for it.

Off topic, but does anyone else find naking almost impossible. I can read but am horrible at typing one handed and can only do it with my right hand... so if I'm bf on the right, I don't ever respond to any threads.

Yes, I've never had any idea how someone NAKs, especially with a toddler. I almost always tandem nursed my twins, though, so I guess that made it extra impossible.

With an infant, if you can get them latched on in a sling or carrier, then you have BOTH hands free! I remember doing this with DD. Hope I can figure it out again this time.

There's a definite learning curve.....I used to be pretty good at it, and I hope I can figure it out again, but it may take awhile! And for me, it's impossible once they reach the age of being super interested in the clickety-clack that's going on behind them. So, after about 4 months or so, I guess.....they refuse to stay latched, or they stretch your nipple SEVERAL. INCHES. BEYOND. TORTURE. in order to try to see what you are doing behind them!

gah. I have much respect for the nursing ninjas who understand this art form!

I'm also wondering if it will be better or worse with a laptop....I've never used one much before now, but our desktop is getting a bit slow, so I dunno if I'll have the patience to use it much.
