beeswax polish and toys

Thread Starter
we made the kids a doll sized treehouse and its almost done. i sent DP to the store for beeswax polish to finish it and the guy at woodcraft said it isnt a good polish because its too soft and wont actually protect it. so he bought beeswax/carnauba combo. is that safe? is the beeswax really not effective? is there something better to use?

If it doesn't protect it, then why does places like Nova Natural use a beeswax polish?

Maybe he's thinking of beeswax alone won't work. I do know that beeswax is usually combined with another oil in order to work properly.

I do know that some pills have carnuba wax in the coating.

Oh, and according to wikipedia, it's safe

it seems weird to be putting something that is normally in your car wax in your body, but we do it all the time - tooth floss is coated in it, cosmetics and foods have it in there.

It is a plant wax, so apparently it is safe.

I think that most/all of the beeswax polishes are mixed with another oil as well.
