If you could have your own self-contained homeschool room, what would you put in it? - Page 2

everything that is currently on my dining room table?

For me I'd want
~ lots of storage - bookcases and closed storage,
~ an art area, including a bulletin board/display area and painting drying area, (washable low maintenance flooring here)
~ low shelves for display of whatever creations, projects, creatures are currently being studied. with storage for things like lego and blocks underneath.
~ a sink,
~ room for a couch and easy chair or rocking chair,
~ large work table
~ good lighting especially if it is a basement space,
~ large bulletin boards for maps, posters, timelines etc
~ a large mirror
~ good blinds to make the room dark for projects
~ computer desk - maybe room for 2 computers with storage above for resources and below for files etc.

Here is some pics of ours. The room itself is a wierd shape, it's the master bedroom with an addition which is a winterized porch and then awalk in closet at the back, so it's a big L shape, when we move it will be more of 1 big rec room. It is a school room/playroom, but becuase ds2 is little still a lot of the smaller bits things are in ODS' room with his train table. And it also doubles as a spare room.

I have all our cloths in the walk in so I just do laundry in there while the kids hang out.

Shelf me and my dad built.

from inside the L looking towards the door, the shelf is just around the corner to the riight.

Sorry for so many pics, it's a hard room to photograph.

I would like to add a chalk board wall and some of those magnet strips to the new room. as well as a bigger TV, and the train table.

Other then that I assume it will continue to evolve, but I will be overjoyed the day I can organize everything without concerns ofbabies and choking hazards! Most of our books are actually downstairs and in the kids room.
