Help, SIlly Putty stuck on sock and in boot!

The silly putty had been missing for a few days when it turned up in my 4 yo's boot! He had been complaining that his boots didn't fit , we have a 2 yo pal who loves to rearrange!
I have put the sock in the freezer but the putty doesn't freeze. Am clueless at how to get rid of it from a wool sock and from a boot liner.
Thanks!

Have you tried rubbing alcohol? Hand-sanitizer, which is mostly alcohol, works in a pinch too. Oh yes, almost forgot, hairspray might work too since they often contain alcohol.

Maybe try peanut butter? Its supposed to help with gum in hair.. so ... maybe....

I don't have any advice, I just wanted to say that whenever I see this post it makes me giggle. I can *so* imagine that happening.

Good luck.
