Woo hoo! Christmas bonus! Come celebrate with me! :-)

My company had been told we might very well not get Christmas bonuses this year, particularly since it wasn't a great year, and we merged with another company.

Well, I just found out yesterday that I AM getting a Christmas bonus.

Drum roll, please...

$700!!!!

Was I shocked when my boss told me (he pulls everyone into his office and tells them privately. The amount you get depends on how long you've been there).

That's going to be the restart of my emergency fund! I've got several hours of OT in this paycheck, so that will be some fun money!

DH finds out tonight how much his bonus is. It's the first time his company is giving them out and nobody has a clue what it will be.

I have to admit I'm a bit jealous - or really actually just a bit angry at dh's company. Nothing yet about bonuses, so dh thinks they are not doing any, even though they had a good year financially. They got a small bonus last year, about $100, but that would have really helped us this year.

DH got a $35 gift certificate from the grocery store he works for. Yay :. Not even enough to buy a turkey with.

Dh got a bonus this year too, which always surprises me. This is a great company... his old company would give him $25 to a restaurant and AVON-- yes, AVON lotion and chapstick. Made him feel like a winner... :-)

hubby got his pay check last night-- they shorted him 81 dollars-( 12 hours of work on a holiday) and gave him a wells fargo gift card. i wished they would have just gave a check so we could pay bills with it. but oh well. we took the gift card and bought groceries...

that was a nice bonus for u.
