I"m a sucker. Most years I have to make an extra trip because we give them too much before Christmas :. Everything early gets opened. We just can't stand the torment

I totally agree! We haven't let them open any early presents AND they are wrapped and under the tree. (except for Santa presents)

If it were stressful and upsetting, I would totally let them do it though.

As it is, they seem excited and can't wait for xmas morning. We open a gift or two on xmas eve but I don't think they remember that from previous years (they are 2.75 and 4). That'll be a fun little surprise

Maybe it helps that they open advent gifts from grandma everyday?

We don't get a lot for Christmas. My partner and I do not get each other anything.... it is usually all about the kids. Even then , they usually get a small stocking and a couple of things from the grandparents .( we usually purchase somthing needed and exciting as a family gift , together somtime over the holidays... this year it was a used bunkbed set for the boys. They are thrilled!) We live off of a very small budget and are just not consumers... so truly, Christmas goes against a lot of what we try to promote most of the time.

Since the boys get so little we try to save the big things for Christmas day. We do spread it out though, starting with solstice. This Christmas they will have thier stocking and a present each from grandma and grandpa.I don't know what my folks will do for the boys when we go down , or if the other relatives will get them somthing small.

Each year i get a box of socks from my aunt. i loooove it. they are teh wacky socks -- like for the hoiday or whatever ... Talbots has then a lot, but target has started to carry them too

i have ice cream socks
i have lady bug socks
i have apple socks
i have popcorn socks

I also have many pairs for each holiday -- Valebntines, St Pats, Halloween, Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years ...... I have enough Christmas socks to wear a differnt pair for at least 3 weeks before hand.

My Midwife from birth one thought it was so funny .....

my Ped calls them "mommy socks"

and the hosptial staff thought it was cute that on oct 29, 30 adn 31 i had halloween socks when i there for my son's birth.

Hey -- it is awsome, if all else fails me "what is on momma's socks" or "find the X on momma socks" will buy you 3 to 5 minutes .....
