Ok- I'm going for it. I am trying this weekend to make longies out of a sweater (I'm not great at knitting- sewing, etc).

I found this pattern and wanted to see if any veterans could tell me if it was any good. It looked about my speed

I know lots of mamas use that tutorial. Just keep the pics near you as you work. I thought I remembered what to do and cut the sleeves wrong

you are a goddess for posting this link-- thank you -- it's EXACTLY what I was looking for! I made two small covers out of an old sweater, but wanted to make longies out of the sleeves for a friend's little girl. Now I know how!

Thank you thank you thank you!

How did your longies turn out by the way?

Wool Longies

My dw has started making wood longies, and used that link, and they are awesome. It's so easy she just made two pair for a friend in a couple of hours.

I hope it goes well.

VERY EASY! It took me less than an hour to make two pairs of longies from the pattern. I am making newborn size. I found I couldnt serge the legs to the body, so I used the regular machine for that part only.

Does it have to be serged? I don't have a Serge machine.

Does your sewing machine have an overlock stitch? Use that! If not use a zigzag close to the edge with a single stitch over it.
