Best clock for learning time?

I would like to get one for my 5 year old son. Like a bigger one to sit on the table. Anyone have any recommendations?

I like the Judy clocks. You can get all sizes, from the ones that sit on the table to little handheld ones.

Put a piece of masking tape over all the digital clocks in the house and get him a learning watch.

I taught mine on a wristwatch. He'd learned his 5s such as (5, 10, 15, 20, etc.) and I taught him how to tell time like 4:15, 5:20, etc...until he could learn to tell time exactly as he got more learning in. It took me all of 20 minutes to give him the basics and he quickly got better at it. He was 7 at the time.

Hope that helps.

The Judy clock is a good manipulative. The child also can make a teaching clock from a paper plate, two cardstock hands and a brad.

You can hang two real clocks (analog and digital) side-by-side at the child's eye level. This works for some kids. For others, as the ppt mentioned, it works better to avoid digital for a while.

Timex makes analog teaching watches, with different colored hands, etc.
