Daily Check-in 12/20

Happy EDD to me! I'm not ready to go yet, though. Had a MW appt. yesterday and things hadn't changed since last week. 1cm and 50% effaced. Not that that means anything.

I think my cold may be improving, so I'd like to give it more time to do so. Having a teeny bit of mucous, a few BH, but no real changes. Next week they'll want to do an U/S and NST, then after 42 weeks they're talking induction. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Unfortunately, I REALLY want this boy to come in 2007. If he arrives after that, I have to pay my full medical deductible and we cannot afford that right now!! Especially since water just started dripping in through our living room wall due to ice and snow, and more snow is on the way tonight and tomorrow.

Ugh, anyway, I'm dictating that my baby come on Dec. 26th. That would be convenient for me

I'm up making pancakes and bacon. Still overdue and depressed. Yup.

Up with semi-sick child.

I have no idea what illness he has - at first, I thought it may be a flu (though I'm only mildly familiar with the symptoms) as he was complaining of body aches and had a moderately high fever. The day went by, and his fever subsided, he doesn't seem to be too achy. Totally odd. Hoping I didn't catch whatever it is he got, and hoping : that it is passing quickly.

Does anyone know what to do with a sick toddler and a newborn? Whats the protocol? Isolation?

Oh, and 39w5d here

Up because it's still yesterday(12/19) in Seattle-but I'm checking in for tomorrow (12/20).

My days seem to drag on and on. Nothing interesting happening inside my body. On the outside, I'm crying at everything. What a wreck! I have got to RELAX or this child may never be born.

Darn, I wanted to start today's thread! whine, whine

I'm up because I'm counting contractions! :

Went to church tonight (last night, whatever) and on the way home I had one giant mofo of a ctx, which ended up lasting (I kid you not!) over 40 minutes!! I called the mw when it didn't settle down after we got home and I was moving, etc. We figured it might be baby trying to get in a better position, and I took a bath with epsom salt, then rubbed lavendar oil on my belly. It settled down some, but my uterus has been very irritable all evening. Now things are starting to feel "real" but we'll just have to wait and see!

Ds2 is sick--fever and congestion. Fun! Part of me is almost wishing things would quit, at least until morning, so I can get some decent rest tonight. But it will be what it will be! How very Yoda of me....

Go Shebear with the contractions!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't sleep, spent too long upset today (still am) and feel like a truck ran over my head. I had my last midwife appt and it felt so wierd.

I'm actually having a baby....

There really can't be many of us left now.

I would be lost without our ddc. My real life is too lonely

We've had a nice little thunderstorm this morning and it's kicked my uterus into low gear (I came in here to time them, but they've kinda slacked off now). I scarcely dare to hope they'll turn into anything anymore.

Totally blew my wonderful adjustment last night. Dh asked me if I was going to the church Christmas party Saturday...I haven't gone to *any* of 3 parties that have been since my EDD (don't want to be around ppl or wrangle my children, but I guess really, here with you ladies, I don't need to make excuses about why I don't want to go). I felt like he was being totally insensitive (you expect me to go to a party this big and miserable or with a newborn? which is better for you, dear? Anyway, we had a "discussion" about it later in which he tried to convince me just how understanding he really is (i.e. he thinks he understands, so he doesn't try to understand) and it ended up with me sobbing. My mom came in and gently said that I needed some space and he needed to stop and my dh yelled at my mother!!!!! I'm still so freaking pissed I don't know what to do. I cannot believe he would be that disrespectful to my mother, who was only trying to prevent me having a total meltdown. Mom and I ended up taking the kids out to look at the lights. I picked up my toddler b/c it all upset him and that threw my hip back out, and the tension has caused a catch in my shoulder blade. *sigh* Relief was so nice, but so brief. :

Anyway, sorry for the rant in the update thread. I got seriously upset before the birth of my other 2, maybe that's just part of my labor process. But it's seriously not fun. And right now, I don't know how I'd deal with dh if I were in labor. I honestly am just too mad at him.

So sorry some of you have sick little ones. I don't think you have to quarantine them though, esp if you are going to be breastfeeding. Wash your hands alot. I promise it helps cut down on the spread of illness.

Christa

39 and 4. OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT OUT! Time to come out! I am 1000000000% DONE. I *did* enjoy pregnancy for the most part, but this prodromal labor, and 18236495816 "signs" that labor is imminent suck big hairy donkey's *****!

Hubby and I had amazing nookie last night, not functional just for the prostiglandins to get labor going sex either, but just for the pure enjoyment, and I would like that to be the last time (for memories's sake) until after lochia-PP-all healed-quick-come-get-some-before-baby-wakes-up nookie.

I am having more low contrax, but I am not expecting much.

Exciting! ELV :

Nothing new to report here and for some reason am starting to feel a little overwhelmed with all the births announced today so going to go put my head back together. I think I might be starting to be concerned that there won't be anyone left in the DDC that I "know"...I mean I know that no one is totally leaving, but...well I'm sure you all know what I mean.

I'm here. Nothing going on, vagina/cervix wise. We're getting dumped on with snow, and ya know what? Im not feeling bitter about it. Its the kind of snow that falls slowly, with big puffy snowflakes. Like real Christmas snowflakes. Of for f*ck's sake, now I'm getting all choked up. The midwives are going to be in my area today so they are coming over, as long as they can make it here with all of this snow!

Add 6 days and I feel the same way!

41w1d here. Yesterday I ate half a pineapple, drank 8oz of prune juice, and tried nipple stimulation for an hour. Now my mouth is raw, my nipples are sore, and I'm still constipated. : I had ctx all night and am having some dull back pain now, but am pretty sure nothing's happening anytime soon.

I know what you mean about raw from too much pineapple and sore nipples!

I have decided NOT to try anything else from now on. Besides, I never wanna see a pineapple again!!

Hello! 40 weeks, 5 days.

I hope the baby comes this weekend. (Or on Monday so my dh can skip his sales meeting. )

PS-I am having a major adjustment from my chiro Friday morning. I hope it kick starts something.

My "normal" adjustments produce some ctx but nothing major. He knows I am coming to "be induced."

I need to do some research-because I dont even really know what that means. He just told me that he has done a "vigorous" adjustments before and ladies will go into labor soon after.

Anyone else kickstart labor through chiro?

41w3d here. Worried. Had a nst & bfp yesterday and baby scored a 10. Tech said placenta looked wonderful with no signs of aging. Woo HOoo!
