Do you save in an ING account?

Seems smarter to put savings there since it's something like 4% interest which is more than a bank's. Thoughts?

I just use a mutual fund for savings - I don't really withdraw from them much but it's more accessible than having to pay commission fees on stock trades. I earn a little more than 5% on the Fidelity Select fund and there's a link to my checking account, so I can move money between them as I wish.

i use ing and i like it. it consistently has very good rates, and since it takes a little more work to use the money i think more before using it. but in case i really need it, i can have it within a fews days.

ETA: also, linking checking accounts is easy and you can set up automated savings, which is fantastic for me-- my account grows and i hardly notice except when i go try to find out how much i have.

I have online savings at emigrantdirect.com. The interest rate is a little higher. Like ING, it takes a couple days to transfer money out so you can't spend it on impulse.

ING is great! They have great web service....it's easy to understand and the rate is wonderful.

I have an ING account but the rate at Emigrant direct is a little higher so I don't keep any money in ING.

We also have a business savings account at ING and do keep money in that one since ING is the only online bank I know of that offers business banking -- and they just started recently.

I've been using ING for about 5 years now and love it! I love the automatic transfer they offer. Very nice!

I love my ING account. I started it in May or so, and between interest earned and referrals (and the $25 start-up bonus), I've made $54 in interest this year alone!

I've had an ING account for a couple years now and really like it. They did just drop the rate again recently but it's still pretty good.

Hmm, I wonder if the rate will keep dropping?

Interest rates are dropping everywhere. Every time the Federal Reserve announces an interest rate cut, the banks all slash their rates.

We have a small savings in and ING account. Love it.

Once our debt is paid off and our savings are growing, we will transfer our money to a money market account (Vanguard or the like).

We love our ING accounts! We've had them since March. sup:
