Funny kid stuff, share yours

The other day ds and I were talking about doing something and he told me that it was like "taking candy from a baby, sooo easy mom". I looked at him with a raised eyebrow and said, "oh really?"

See, dd is not an easy child. She screams, she hits, she cries. She's the meanest little child I've ever seen. She is all personality, very strong willed and does not give up ANYTHING without a fight. She's been like this since she was born. She's not all bad, of course, but she really is a handful. Of course a lot of it is being 2, but most of it is just her.

So then after a pause, ds says, "Well, like taking candy from a different baby, not my sister."

I almost peed myself laughing so hard.

LOL, that's great!

DD is always making me laugh, but one of the funniest things that sticks in my mind is when she was doodling on her magnadoodle in the back seat of the car. She drew a picture of a globe and wrote above it, "The Panet Rf" -- her 4.5 year old phonetic version of The Planet Earth." She still has trouble pronouncing the "th" sound, and so to her, she had it completely right. I about died laughing.

Not my kid, but one of my pre-school age dance students.

Yesterday, during class, I had paused to change the music and one three year old said LOUDLY during the lull "(SIGH), I'M TIRED!" I ignored the comment (because I know from experience it could spiral into a mass revolt, lol!) and continued with the class, when the same child interrupted me to call out again, even louder, "I'M TIRED!" So I say, "You're tired, huh? Well, I'm sorry." and try to proceed. Child interrupts again with "(SIGH), OH, DAT'S OKAY, I'LL JUST LIVE WIF IT!"

I notice this a lot with ds. He knows what sounds the letters make but he hears it a little different, says it a little different and therefor, spells it the way it sounds to him. I'm actually getting a little frustrated with his speech progress, I don't think he new ST is really helping him. I need to meet with his teacher after the holidays.
