Not knowing the sex is getting EXCITING!

I have always found out the sex, with all 3 of my pregnancys. But this time I HAD to experience the surprise of not knowing.

It was annoying at first.

It was hard not to find out at one of the billion U/S I had to have.

But now that the baby will for sure be here in a day, a week, 2 weeks-

I AM SO STOKED!!!!

This was the best choice I have ever made. If I ever get pregnant again-I am so doing it again.

I began each pg saying I didn't want to know, but when it came time for the u/s I always caved and just *had* to find out. I used to try to sneak peeks at Christmas presents too.

I do think it'd be really cool to discover the sex at the birth though and I can hardly wait to see whether you have a girl or a boy...it *is* more exciting not to know.

Same here!!

I always found out by 20 weeks with my other 4. This time however, it was the hospital policy NOT to say, and I was pretty upset about it. I almost paid to have an US in a private clinic.

It has become sooooooooo exciting though! I wish I had chosen NOT to find out with my others

It is the best thing not knowing!
I can't imagine how beautiful it will be to give birth to our baby, see his/her little face, fall in love with it and ONLY THEN find out whether it was a boy or a girl!!

i found out with babies #1, #2, and #4. i started each one not wanting to know, but with those, caved because DH wouldnt stop whining

this time, we had no U/S, so he can whine all he wants. DH and I are on the same page with our feelings on routine ultrasound, but he stil wanted to know the gender. too bad!

i cant wait to find out when baby gets here!

Ive never found out with any baby, but this time will be extra special because I am going to be the first to find out. With both boys, the doc announced "Its a boy!". But this time, either DH or I are going to catch the baby and we will be the first to know - that really means a lot to me.

I had some advice to not let anyone else yell it out except one of us. So I told my MW and the assistants that NO ONE is allowed to say it.

My dh is gonna tell me. And I am so thrilled.

I chose not to find out with my other 2, and told my Hubby (sorry dear, but you have no say, lol) in no uncertain terms that we wouldn't be finding out boy or girl until baby is born.

Another MDC Momma put it perfectly how I feel when she wrote, "I respect my child's privacy and therefore I want to see and meet Baby's face before I check out their genitals."

Fortunately, Hubby is fully on board with this, and we even have in our birthplan that WE will discover if we have a new son or daughter, not the midwife---but then again, Hubby is planning on catching baby.

I was given mostly boy clothes, but I do have a few girlie sleepers. Honestly, it doesn't bother me that much if baby wears either colors at home. It isn't like they are going to mind, just as long as they are warm and cozy

My MIL is insanely curious on whether she gets to start knitting pink or blue sweaters--Oy! enough of the sweaters! really we have 20 of them and 6 are ones that she has knitted already! So when baby is born, we'll call them up, give them all the stats saving the sex of the baby last, and then announce that "It's a Baby Ourlastname!" and hang up the phone. We want to see how long it will be before she calls back because we are naughty like that

Honestly, right now I am torn. I love love love the girl name that we picked out--so pretty and my daughter despirately wants a sister. However, Hubby admitted around about the end of the first trimester that he would really like a son, especially since this could be his only biological child and his family has a naming thing for a few generations now that the sons get their fathers' first names as their middle names, and we would like to carry on the tradition. Oy! what a silly thing for *me* to be torn on, really, are the names...

I am super ready and super excited to meet this baby! OUT OUT OUT OUT!!!!!

Yeah, you just stop caring about pink and blue after you have had a couple.

I could care less.

I wouldn't have minded knowing, but we don't do routine ultrasounds, so it was a surprise. It was kind of fun - after we cuddled in the pool for a minute, I asked him which one he was, looked to see, and said, "oh, you're Faelan!" The midwife asked what sex he was about an hour later - I guess his name's rare enough it isn't obvious.
