TF foods/bev's for a "clears only" diet/fast?

Hi everyone, I'm hoping you can help me. I just found out I have to have surgery next month and have to do 2 days of what essentially seems like fasting before the day of surgery. I was given a list of allowable "foods" and I can't eat hardly any of them. I am 100% sugar (incl. juice) free and other than chicken broth, I'm really having a hard time figuring out what I could eat that would still be actually nutritious and a "real food", i.e., not popsicles sweetened with aspartame and bright green jell-o sweetened with Splenda. blech.

Foods on their "allowable" list:

Jell-o (orange or lime flavor only)
Clear broth / consomme
Apple juice
Grape juice
Popsicles
Water ice
Coffee (black)
Tea (plain)

No dairy, creamer, citrus juices, red jell-o, sorbet, applesauce, or other non-clear foods.

The only thing on the list I would even think of touching is broth (aside from coffee and tea of course). What am I going to do? Can anyone come up with any ideas of other clear liquids/"foods" that would be ok? :

I remember reading recently that you can make jello with Bernard Jensen's gelatin and a nice flavored tea sweetened with stevia. I would think lacto-fermented sodas would be OK, or coconut water kefir. And rejuvelac. What about kombucha? Where I live (in N.Cal), I can buy all of these things at the store (except coconut kefir). Whole Foods has rejuvelac and these elderberry root sodas that are naturally fermented. Sometimes they're a little sweet and unbubbly still, so I let them sit out for a while until they're fizzy and I can't taste sugar. Honestly, you might want to relax your sugar standards a bit so you can get SOME nourishment before undergoing surgery. I would think coconut water would be good. It's pretty tough to get proteins and fats in a clear liquid (very small amounts in broth), so if you don't consume any sugars, you will essentially be fasting. I could be wrong, but that seems stressful for a body about to go through a trauma.

Thank you SO much. These are wonderful ideas. Just amazing... I never thought of coconut water.... I don't even know what it is. I'm going to go to our organic grocery store and get these items and see if they are clear enough.

I know. Sadly my gut has to be TOTALLY empty and anything other than clears is going to run the risk of there being stool in there still. (sorry TMI) So I kind of think the idea IS to fast. I think it is going to be really really hard, but your ideas are wonderful - thank you!
