I just wanted to thank you all for welcoming me into your DDC.
I think my DH updated my labor thread after Ronan was born, but if not here's a cross-post from my update over in November:
Ronan Wyatt was born on Dec. 10th at 6:42 am, after about 2.5 hours of short, sweet, and intense labor. I am working on the birth story but it was awesome. DH and I both caught him and it could not have gone better. Ronan was 9 lbs. 13 oz. and 22" long.
He is totally a 44 weeker, so mature and calm and he has gotten his sleep/awake times sorted out pretty quickly. He did not have one speck of vernix left on him so his skin has peeled like crazy but it's about done now. He has been holding his head up very strongly since the start, smiling in response to our voices or faces, and also cooing at us which I do not remember either of my other babies doing at birth. So I am pretty amazed with him and of course head over heels in love. His big sibs love him too and want to help me with everything. Only sibling issue so far has been whose turn it is to hold him next.
Nursing is going well, I always have this sore nipple thing that can't quite be solved but he was already up to 10 lbs. at his 1 week checkup with the MW so obviously it's all right!
Anyway, thanks again for welcoming me into your DDC for those long last 10 days of my PG! It was great getting to know you all.
