-start putting more into savings. We had a very aggressive plan that fell apart so we're going for something more doable.

My question since I also want to do this since all of our savings also goes into retirement-

What made it fail?

What would make it more doable?

Wow its so hard to believe 2007 is almost over... I've just started to map out our plan for 2008 with DH's help.

1. Make sure everyone stays happy and HEALTHY this year.
2. DH is going to decide in January if he is going to continue searching in corporate america for employment or open his own business. Both are very scarry as unemployment is running out and we are going to be using savings $$ fully.
3. Declutter like a mad woman. Anything my youngest have outgrown is being sold or donated... then when doing laundry weed out stained, unliked, damaged etc.
4. Dont buy anything with out checking to see if we have a workable solution at home first
5. january is PANTRY CHALLENGE... nothing but diary and produce and baby items should be purchased.
6. Finish my started crafty items and continue making hats for catholic charities.
7. Decide if we are staying in AZ or moving... (see #2)
8. Get a workable plan for house chores... laundry/dishes/cleaning

*not definately in the order posted (except fr #1 and #2)

I love these two - having to check will certainly keep me from spending. And although I use up almost everything between shopping trips, extending it further will help the budget.

So my goals are:
1. Pay off DH's work truck. I had been leaving it to him since it is his business expense (he's a self-employed contractor) but I want the debt gone.
2. Add some play money into my budget so I'll have the money to do things when I want to. (Didn't have any last year.)
3. Build up the e-fund beyound $1000 so it can cover a month or two of DH not working, if necessary.
4. Work together with DH to come up with long and short term financial goals.
5. Stick to them together - DH is one who strays pretty easily.
6. Keep excercising - it is such a necessary part of my life, both mentally and physically.

I would love to see this thread bumped also - reading about others progress is a great motivator!

1. exercise, even if it's just dancing with dd, at least 10 min/day
2. be nicer to dh : (maybe that'll help him be nicer too
3. finishe $1000 emergency fund
4. pay off at least 1/4 of my student loan
5. give better x-mas presents next year (
6. lose at least 15 pounds
7. learn to sew/use new sewing machine dh got me
8. declutter 2008 in 2008

i'm sure there'll be more but it's a start.

My goals:

*spend better time with my children
*de-clutter (2008 in 2008)
*save enough $$ to move to a bigger/nicer apartment this summer
*save enough $$ to replace the transmission in my SAAB

These are the biggies. There are more on my blog.

I want to FINALLY get on board with Flylady, and get my house under control...

DH paid off my car, so that's one financial goal done!!

We need to shop for a minivan .. so I have a budget of $10K or less. We have to start saving for that ASAP.

I also want 3 months of bills saved (mortgage, utilities, etc) saved by by April 1st, so that I don't worry about money when I'm off with the babies.

Umm ... we also need a bigger house, so we are in the process of staging this one, to get it on the market. Nothing like BIG GOALS, right??
