Woo-hoo! I was starting to think I'd never get to start one of these threads!
Bethany Alatha arrived at 11:31 this morning (Thursday, 12/20). She was 8lb, 12 oz and 21 inches long. She is so sweet, snuffly and snugly!
The birth went great--about 11 hours, start to finish. No tearing, not even any skid marks! My bleeding is practically non-existent already, and I feel great!
Only two complaints--my tailbone is absolute mush, and it is killing me! And the afterpains (which strangely I'm feeling as back and thigh labor) are...NOT. FUN.
I don't recall having afterpains before....definitely nothing like this!
And I cannot find a comfortable chair that doesn't torture my tailbone. But my chiro is going to adjust us on Monday, even though the office will be closed for Christmas Eve!
More details and pictures later....I wanted to get online all day and tell y'all, but I've had my lap full of very excited kids!
They are all being very sweet, but ds2 is sick (cold, congestion, fever) to begin with, and he's been quite fussy and clingy.
For now, I'm (no wait, make that WE) going to bed! I didn't sleep at all last night, because ds2 was sick, and about the time i finally got him settled, labor started. And I only got a bit of a nap this afternoon. So, please send us--all of us--sweet dream vibes!
