Top 5 Reasons why DD can't get dressed:

Thread Starter
These are today's top 5 reasons DD1, 2.5 years old, "can't" get dressed:

1. Her pants are "too wobbly"

2. Her shirt is "too scary" (this is her favorite shirt, the one she normally refuses to take off)

3. Her boots are "too heavy"

4. She needs to wear her "flower shoes" (summer sandals, of which we only have 1, besides the fact that we have about a foot of snow on the ground)

5. She's "already dressed"-- (actual quote "I did get dresses already, Mommy!"--sorry, DD, wearing underpants and winter boots does not count as being dressed)

Why did your 2 year old not get dressed today?

Nope, my 3 year old DS got dressed. And then got dressed again. And then again. Then spent some time stomping around in a short-sleeve shirt, underwear and rainboots. Then got dressed again. He goes through more clothes than a teenager before a date!

Mine is three, but decided today would be a "pijjy (pajama) day, but with tights underneath." She seemed to be genuinely surprised that I didn't want to take her outside in the snow like that, especially since she strapped on her summer sandals that I keep trying to hide over her feetie pajamas.

Top 5 Reasons DD 4.5 can't get dressed

1) I can't wear tights only socks!

2) I can't wear long sleeves mommy!

3) Teddy isn't dressed yet! (Proceeds to dress 5+ soft toys in her own clothes, taking at least 20 minutes while rest of family wait at the front door. If encouraged to hurry up, flow interrupted and takes at least another 10 minutes)

4) I don't like that, it's got collars.

5) I don't like pants only dresses!

DS, 4 years
1. "I'm too tired to get dressed."
2. "I like all my clothes too much to pick which ones I want to wear today."
3. on a different day "I don't like any of my clothes."
4. too busy playing with his legos

Getting dressed isn't too big of an issue with our 4 year old. She LOVES to dress herself. She goes in her room and yells, "NO ONE COME IN HERE WHILE I GET DRESSED IT"S A SURPRISE!!!!!!"

5-45 minutes later she comes out dressed. Yes, it's always a surprise

Ds gets dressed with help, but is very adept at getting himself undressed, in the middle of the day, and running around in his underwear...

Isn't it so amazing how much easier it is for them to get themselves undressed?!

My DC love to run around the house naked, or as close to it as possible.

LOL! This is sooo my 2.5 year old! LOL When possible, I will just let him run around nakkie, but often my daycare girls are here and he has to have some clothes on....... Nothing ever stays on for longer than 10 minutes anyway...

I dressed dd while she was still mostly asleep. I would be pissed if someone started taking my clothes off before I even finished stretching, but for some reason this works better than letting her get out of bed first.

I got lucky today

Same with dd's!!

My almost 6 year old dd can't wear blue jeans because they are to "crinkely". Only stretch pants for her!

Abigail actually bot dressed today, pants and shirt.

Of course, now, she's only wearing a diaper.

Sigh.

She prefers being naked.
