I'm already against spiderman, but still need to know, who makes spider man products, and are they out of China?

That really depends on what it is.
With a major long term character like Spiderman there can be *hundreds* of different companies that make Spiderman items.
As far as the toys go most of those are made in China, many of them by Hasbro. You would probably need to check by each manufacturer.
Spiderman *comics* are printed in the US.
I used to work in a comic shop
Honestly, I like Spiderman. I don't buy the toys or like my kid seeing the movies, but I am ok with some of the comics.

Just curious - why are you 'against spiderman'?
I've always thought that as far as superheros go, he's the creme de la creme. He just webs up the bad guys and leaves them for the cops to deal with. His alter ego is mild mannered bookworm Peter Parker. His 'powers' do not hinge on being a big tough guy from another planet, or being super rich. In fact, the emphasis is largely on his intelligence and how he chooses to use his 'powers'.
Anyways I think spidy is pretty cool. I try to keep plastic spidy toys to a minimum, regardless of origin, but DS has a few anyways. And the comic books are great... they were a real motivation when DS was learning to read.
All that aside, I suspect a great many of the toys are MIC...

Gypsy, you're right. He is a good super hero. I just don't like those big marketing schemes, where it's not about the stores, but the merchandise that can be sold. Everything is spiderman these days, and I just assume that the stuff is cheaply made and toxic.

UGGH...I detest Spiderman. DS2 has a freakish, boarderline unhealthy, obsession with him. You can't ask the kid the simplest question without getting Spiderman's answer. I don't think he's *bad* I am just SO OVER HIM.
: I'd love a good excuse to get rid of it all. *sigh*
Sorry, that came across mean, just venting.

I do like Spiderman.
The themes are good and generally more kid friendly. Some of the other comic titles have some more mature themes that while they carry a message, it can still sometimes be rough reading.Iron man is an alcoholic, Sue Storm went through a lot of problems trying to have a child, and she did have a stillbirth.
