is this just my thinning capilaries or do i need to supplement something? nothing gushing, just feel like i need to blow my nose and it's all bloody.

I think it's the just having all that extra blood! I have had two nose bleeds in the past 6 months (haven't had one for years) and there's definitely a bit of blood there everytime I blow my nose.

The extra blood, and depending where you are, the cold air!! The cold dry air only compounds the problem.

Between the extra capillaries, the cold outside air, and the super dry inside air, I wake up every morning with, pardon the grossness, dried red boogers. And I've had two nosebleeds in the last month, bringing my lifetime total to something like five.

Supposedly saline drops would really help!

I've had a few, too.

I grew up having a LOT of nose bleeds... and they were gushers... I could get a nose bleed just by stepping out of the car and it would bleed like crazy for 4 or 5 minutes. As I got older, I stopped getting them so frequently... and in pre-pregnancy, I would get maybe 6 or 7 a year. I've had probably 10 all together during my pregnancy, and since being in thrid trimester, when I blow my nose, it'll come out bloody. But I completely expected this considering my history. And the thing is that with all the practice I've had, I can get a nose to stop bleeding usually within about 30 seconds (the trick is to use a cold rag and then blow the clot out once it forms).

this is another thing new for me this pregnancy. I had the worst in my life around 5 months and had to pull to the side of the freeway! now, they are less but still every other day or so! I just try to drink more water but see no differences if there is one.

I have been getting the same thing and attributed it to the cold weather, dry indoor heat, & extra blood volume. One thing I've noticed that helps a little is to put a little neosporin {or similar oitment} on a Q-tip and run it along the inside of my nostrils. At least my nose doesn't feel all dried out inside.

Lots of boogies and a week ago I had a pretty nasty nosebleed. It bled twice and the second time I was in the middle of changing DSs diaper so I had to stick a wipe up my nose :P

I had lots as a kid. We joked that my body was backwards and my uterus was in my head :P I was the late bloomer in the family and didn't get my period until I was almost in high school.

I can count on one hand the number of nosebleeds I've had in my entire life, outside of pregnancy. During pregnancy, it suddenly becomes once a week, if not more. It's just one of those lovely things that nobody bothers to tell you.

I have NEVER had a nosebleed outside of pregnancy. When I was pregnant with ds I suddenly started having them all the time. Yuck, they are gross!! And to top it off when I finally went into labor with Andrew I was working hard on my contractions, sitting on the floor with my head on the couch, when suddenly I actually heard a plop and a splat and looked up to see that my nose was SPRAYING blood all over the place. I crawled onto the tile floor of the kitchen and thought of how great it was that I was here in labor, the worst pain of my life, and God thought it would be a funny little joke to give me the world's hugest splattering nosebleed to deal with at the same time. So I am trying to work through contractions with blood smeared all over my face and running down my throat, trying to breathe with dh while holding a pack of frozen peas on my nose!

HA! I'm sitting here with kleenex in my nose to block a nosebleed.

I only get them when I'm pregnant. Just adds to the sexy
