Feather Pins on Duck

I would like to render the fat on this duck, but it still has several pins from the feathers. Do I need to manually remove all the pins or will they just come out and float to the top during the rendering process (like I really hope they will )

P.S. I was also hoping that the kids could eat the cracklings

They will not come out on their own. They will stay in the skin.

If they're the tiny ones, a match will take care of them. For the bigger ones, a pair of needle-nose pliers works well. If yours aren't food-safe, wrap them in plastic first.

Duck cracklins are the best! So much better than chicken or pork!

Drat - I was hoping there was some easy way out of this!
Thanks for the tips!
