Thanks and great Interview with Ped!

I wan't to post a message to everyone here thanking you for providing much information about circumcision. My husband and I at first thought were going to circumcise because it is common(baby is due in March- don't know if it is a boy, but I like to be prepared). I wanted to look into it more and found this forum. Now after much reading and watching the heartbreaking video we have decided not to.

Then, we had an interview with a pediatrician today and she mentioned that she is comfortable with uncircumcised boys. She said that she is seeing more and more people who are not doing it. Then, in the literature she gave us about newborns, it says that if the boy is not circumcised, then the skin should NOT be retracted. This was very relieving to see.

Thanks again!

Good for you!!

I had a meeting with a ped. today too. He said the most wonderful thing... He said, "The only issue I see with uncircumcised penises is that doctors are not educated enough about them."

That is great she is ok with the intact penis but you should still be aware she may have had the training that taught her to retract during exams and you will need to be on your toes and make sure that dosnt happen. Please read the sticky The Definition Of Retraction & why it is BAD so that you know exactly what to keep her from doing.

I agree that one must be diligent with educating all health care professionals!
Great decision Mama!
