38w5d. I contract fairly regularly when I walk, but then I get exhausted and my broken crotch gets in my way so I have to stop walking and then there's no more contractions. *sigh*

I'm waiting so in-no-way-patiently to see bloody show when I wipe. Last time I have gobs and gobs of it for a couple of days before giving birth, so it's the sign of labor that seems most real for me. I'd LOVE to see some on Christmas, but nothing yet.

Ugh, I really need to get on that. I was going to leave it for DH, but now that I'm the size of the Lusitania and can't really bend or lift much it doesn't seem fair to having him do the cleaning for the Holidays AND make birth mixes, so I'll have to get on it.

Best thoughts for this being "it" and a fast and easy labor!

Hi ladies, thanks for welcoming a newbie like me the past week.

Today is my EDD. I had a midwife appointment today and she checked me. Very soft and thin but only about a fingertip open. This was my first exam and ow! Caused a little bit of spotting.

I never expected to give birth on my due date, and it is almost more relaxing now that it has past so I can stop fixating on it. But I must admit I'm getting very frustrated with the pelvic and lower back pain. This has triggered my anxiety and it is kind of discouraging.

I talked with her and she realized I had done so much reading and research on the mechanics and physical side of pregnancy and birth but haven't really thought about myself emotionally. She lent me her copy of Birthing from Within and only a few chapters in it is really helping me (even if it is pretty late in the game).

Wishing everyone labor vibes, healthy babies and happy holidays!

40 + 2 today. It doesn't feel like I'm past my due date. I guess it really doesn't mean anything to me. I still can't believe I'm really going to have a baby any day now!

No changes here. I went shopping ALONE, ALL DAY! It was awesome! The traffic and parking weren't even bad and I got a lot of walking in. Went out to dinner with DH while DD had "party night" at gymnastics, so it's been a really luxurious day. Still feeling good. My bet was to give birth tomorrow, but I'm not sure about that now. At this point, I'd like to do Xmas, then go on the 26th.

Where's Starry_mama? Hmmm....

Checking in...

Had a breech scare at my appt. on Thursday... all is okay. Baby is headdown and I am VERY ripe midwife said. She was concerned I would go into labor if she double checked vaginally.

Finished my christmas shopping today and on the way home had some HARD contractions closer together... thought maybe I had to pee so I went directly to the bathroom when we got home. My ENTIRE mucous plug came out right there... I've never lost that much at once before... Both boys it was gradual... and then labor started within 24 hours. So... Hoping this means I'm off to a beautiful homebirth by Monday!

Today was my EDD, but since I was only 1 cm dilated and hardly effaced, it's no surprise I'm still here. Have felt very few contractions, but I don't want to stress about timing very much. My OB on the other hand tried to coerce me into a c section yesterday, and then offered induction--that afternoon--as a second choice. She went through a battery of excuses for it, too: suspected "macrosomia," which, she threatened, could lead to a, her exact words, "dead baby," "possible" preeclampsia, even though I have never had protein in my urine and my BP hasn't fluctuated more than 10 pts over several weeks, and even GD due to a "high normal" glucose reading a few months ago. Very, very pushy. She was very unhappy that I didn't comply with her wishes.
Anyway, still PG, cranky, but otherwise healthy!
