So... sperm?

I never really get involved in the whole sperm pre-syringe thing so I've never really seen how much our donor donates.
I peeked into the cup last night and it is so little!
I was assuming it was around a table spoon or so but no... much less!

Is this normal?
(Please help me get through my early 2ww panic attack...)

It is completely normal. I too was kind of freaked out the first time I saw how little we had to work with. I think the typical amount is from 1.5-5 mL.

Yeah there's hardly any. I was like: THIS is what they make the big deal about?

Believe me, if you want to get really freaked out, spend $500 to buy a vial from the sperm bank! A .5cc vial (which is what my bank ships, washed) has so little in it seems IMPOSSIBLE that it could actually get you pregnant.

But, apparently that's all it takes!

And some men think we have to use a turkey baster. They wish.

Yeah, a tablespoon at most, but just remember, that has MILLIONS of potential little people in it, and just ONE has to make it your the Happy Place.

Whew.

I was concerned.
I thought that maybe we really *did* drain the poor boy.

The fertility clinic I went to for a consult told me that the banks divide each donation into as many as SEVEN units!!! Which is why doing IUI with frozen sperm is important, because the count is low to start with.
