Does anyone have one? I am going to get a free consulation this week but don't know what to expect. What are your experiences? Worth it? Not worth it? How much should we be paying? etc...

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Definitey worth it!!! I was lucky enough to be selected by Working Mother Magazine (I was in the April edition) to receive a free financial makeover. I met with a financial planner and it was a great experience and I highly recommend you do it.
It's a little scary to face your financial situation. But they will direct you to making the best choices for you and your family. For example, here I thought I was doing the right thing by putting money away into a 529 college fund for my dd. Turns out, their recommendation was to stop doing that because the bigger priority is to make sure my savings account has 4-6 months of my salary as emergency funds. Which of course it didn't (I'm still working on that)! They will help you with life insurance choices, retirement funds, etc.
I don't know how much a planner costs but I would go to the free consultation and seriously consider going through with it. Especially if you have long term goals that seem out of reach (I'm still dreaming of buying a house) or if just can't seem to make ends meet and aren't sure what your priorities should be.

) anyone who has won anything out of magazines and what not. That is awesome. I am going to the free consult tomorrow am. Will post my experience. I'm not sure what I have to do to secure my financial future for myself or my son, but would love some help figuring it out. I would love to own a house too!
