Tell me I don't need a Dyson vaccuum - Page 2

Yeah, I would, but I bought the pet version about a year ago and bed, bath and beyond (with a 20% off coupon), and I am still in .

welll.....I hated my Hoover and bought a Dyson and I don't regret it a bit. I got mine new for about $350 shipped. I can't remember the exact deal. It's a DC14. I know that's still a lot. But honestly I was spending a *lot* on bags for my Hoover, plus the inconvenience factor - it made me go into WalMart, which I otherwise avoid like the plague.. I use my Dyson daily and empty it every time and there is a LOT of crud coming up off my carpets. I hated having to buy bags for my Hoover because we went through them so fast. FWIW.

That said, I have friends who swear by their Panasonic uprights (much cheaper, and work surprisingly well).

I have a Scooba and I love it but I can't imagine a Roomba would work as well as my Dyson does.

I hate my Dyson and it is going on Freecycle ASAP.

I have a basic model from Sears (Kenmore brand, I think). It was about $200 and works fine, but then I am not a super-clean, housekeeper. I have a washable bag for it that cost about $15. I throw the bag in the wash once a month and it does the job.

What exactly do you hate about it?

I bought a Dyson (the plain ole yellow one) at Bed Bath and Beyond with a 30% off coupon last year. I'm starting to get annoyed with it. It picks up really well, but it's such a pain to pull out ouf the closet (heavy), to take apart to use the attachment, the attachment part is too long, and when I use it on carpet it takes a few times of lifting it up and down before it will hit the carpet.
