Just passing on word from Jesse, Melanie/PurpleMonkey's husband, that their twin girls are safely Earth-side! Jesse gave me permission to share his account of the births. Perhaps when Melanie is feeling up to it, she'll tell us more.

You can read their birth story here (with photos!).

Beautiful pictures. I am sorry that the birth didn't go as planned, but having them naturally seems like an accomplishment! Congratulations!

Melanie and the girls are beautiful! There were many time where I dropped my jaw and shook my head when I read their birth story, but is so wonderful that they got to have a natural birth in the end! Melanie's strength is encouraging and inspiring! Congratulations!

OMG! I've got tears in my eyes just looking at them! I"m sorry the birth didn't go exactly as planned, but what a great job you both did! I'm insanely jealous! The girls are adorable and seeing two at once is just amazing! Congratulations and welcome Lucy and Bella! I'm excited to know how taking care of two of them turns out! I'm a little nervous about it!

Congratulations!!! (And thanks to To-Fu for updating us )

ETA: I just read the birth story and looked at the photos. I'm glad you were able to get your natural birth despite the army of medical staff breathing down your neck! And both girls are beautiful

In the bustling town of Fuquay-Varina I'm having the baby at the birthing center in Chapel Hill, though.
