anyone else hate the bed right now?

I love our bed otherwise, heck we just bought it, but I cannot sleep in it comfortably. I can only sleep on the couch, I hate it and dh hates it but turning over is soo uncomfortable and for some reason it is worse in bed.

just want to know if anyone else is stuck on the couch to get the smallest amount of sleep?

I feel the same way right now. I dread going to bed because DH falls asleep right away and I toss and turn all night, literally only sleeping an hour or 2, then getting up so tired and irritated. I can sleep on the couch, and I haven't taken to sleeping there at night, (I guess I don't want to admit defeat)
Anyhow I have no idea what to do. I've tried various pillows and different arrangements, but what it comes down to is a can't get comfy. If I sleep on my side my hips scream. I can stay modified on my belly, but only sometimes and only for a little while until it hurts. I can stay on my back for a short while, then my back hurts. It's never ending. I feel like if I could just relax I could sleep, but I can't and I'm so tired.
Then to make everything better, my in laws are here, and I feel like I am being run crazy. Making 2 HUGE meals, making sure everyone is happy and satiated, sigh, not to be done when in the last part of pregnancy. AHHHH.

I'm also having a lot of trouble sleeping, and every time I wake up whatever side I was sleeping on is sooo sore. I don't remember it being this bad with the N&R or lil R, but yeah, I can sympathize.

Yes to everything said. I can't believe we have soooo much longer to go.

It's not the bed that I "hate", it's the company! I can't go anywhere with out at least one or two following me. And If I escape after everyone falls asleep, they inevitably find me in the middle of the night.

I'm not comfortable anywhere...the bed is the worst. I can't sleep comfortably on either side of my back so I just toss and turn. I'm overdue for a massage and chiro adjustment and I'm going today for both of those but just feel so much bigger with this pregnancy. I weigh less but the belly is just HUGE and I can't get comfy. That's one reason I don't mind working up til the end, I am most comfortable standing so I might as well make some $$$ doing it.

I'm right there with you. My husband has a lingering cough that keeps me up, the fridge making a weird but LOUD sound that wakes me up (the landlord is 'supposed' to be getting a replacement, and I'm so UNCOMFORTABLE!

So my husband sleeps on the couch, or I crawl in my 3 year old's comfy twin bed with her. At this point I would rather have an elbow in my nose than a backache....

I'm having the same problem. Tossing and turning all night long to keep from being paralyzed with pain when I get up. We don't have a couch yet (just moved) and sleeping in the recliner doesn't seem like it will be any better. I think the worst part is DH and I are large people (on top of me being pregnant) and we're stuck on a full size bed. Full= Not big enough for big people. We're looking at getting two twin beds and putting them together because it's cheaper than buying a king size bed and we can have seperate covers and not fight over space at night. We'll see!

My bed is still the most comfortable place for me to sleep and most nights, I can work out some sort of pillow arrangement to get a few good hours of sleep at a time. My problem with my bed is that its in our room!! During the summer, our bedroom is the coolest room in the house and we love it. For some reason, though, we've found that it's also the hottest room during the winter. I can only sleep with one sheet on me and even then, I usually wake up drenched in sweat. I must have lost 5 lbs in water weight last night alone!

I hate my desk chair, I hate the bus, I hate the couch, I hate getting up in the morning.. but oh, i love my bed. I should be careful what i wish for, i might end up on bed rest if I keep telling the universe that's where I want to be!

I fall asleep on the futon in the living room without problem - I get in bed and I lay there awake for hours. And odds are, just as I"m falling asleep, my 2 year old will wake up needing something ...or my 5 year old will come downstairs and into my bed after a bad dream ... or dh's alarm will go off...

And should I get more than 2 hours of sleep in a row it's INCREDIBLY painful to roll over and then takes a while for me to get comfortable again and fall back to sleep.

If only my 2 yo would make it through the night without needing to snuggle up to me, I could just stay on the futon!!!

I don't know how you mamas who already have kids make it through the day...It's nice to see I'm not the only one who very suddenly can't sleep for more than a couple hours at a stretch before waking up because I'm uncomfortable/roasting hot/have to pee/have to roll over. Ugh. I've thought several nights about going & sleeping on the couch...DH is going to think I'm abandoning him, but yipes, bed is just not comfortable. A recliner actually sounds like heaven. Sigh. How many more weeks of this?!?

And just how bad will it be in month 9?

Heh. Try sleeping on the floor.

I don't have a bed. And the floor is getting mighty uncomfortable...

you win!!! i can't lay on the floor for more than 2 seconds without my back screaming at me.

oh my gosh! i can't believe i was able to forget how bad this part of pregnancy is.

i try to prop myself up so the heartburn doesn't hurt, then i have one pillow behind my back and one in front (but not quite under!) my belly and then i fall asleep for 45 minutes and i have to pee.

get a drink of water because i'm parched and start all over again on the other side. only to wake up in an hour because ds has a bad dream, or the dog needs to go out, or my obsessive cat won't leave my belly alone.

PLUS!! anyone else with restless legs? i used to make fun of the commercial that advertised a medication and now i'm sure it's my karma but my legs just can't get comfortable. i have to move them like every thirty seconds even though i'm sooooooooooo tired.

i do have a theory that this late in pregnancy you wake up all the time so that when the baby comes you are already used to getting up a gazillion times a night to feed, change diapers, etc. you don't even miss a night of sleep because you haven't had one or months!

My DH hates it when I cannot sleep in the bed. He says he cannot sleep without me, but I have trouble turning over at night. And his snoring never bothered me, but between him snoring, me peeing and the baby moving I cannot get any sleep!

I try to sneak out of the room when he sleeps, but he always wakes up and asks me where I am going, lol.

I agree! I think it would be too much if we were sleeping comfortably and bam! you start having to get up every hour when the baby is born- its nature's way of conditioning us to the sleep deprivation we will suffer for months if not years to come...

oh for the restless legs- have you tried a magnesium supplement? Works like a charm for me.

I slept on the couch (in a reclining chair) for half of my last pregnancy, but I'm still in my bed this time around. I have a Tempur-pedic now, and it feels awesome. I have to use a wedge pillow to sleep in bed, though, because I have the most wicked heartburn imaginable, if I don't use the wedge. Rolling over sucks, as do my numerous nightly trips to the bathroom. I guess I think of it like this: it won't be that much longer before I have a newborn who is keeping me up all night long. At least, for right now, I get to sleep and nap when my 2 1/2 year old is snoozing.
