It happens all the time that a 37 or 38weeker has trouble breathing and needs to be sent to the nicu with respiratory distress. And my little girl is nearly 3 now and still catches some sort of lung or other respiratory illness at least once a year that puts her in the ER and the hospital. She catches every cold and germ that comes around despite nursing until 22months. She has sensory integration issues. She's terrified of doctors and their latex gloves and it gives her panic attacks. I just want you to realize that even a week or two makes a HUGE difference.

![]() AlwaysByMySide, No, being induced doesn't always mean you'll end in a C section. My firstborn was induced and I birthed vaginally without pain medication. But I distinctly remember crying and looking up at my husband and asking, "Where is my break?! They said in between contractions you get a break! Where is my break?" I was very confused because no one explained to me that contractions come harder and faster with pitocin and there IS no break. I wish I had known that beforehand. I would have chosen not to be induced. I had that choice. I realize some people may not have a choice if its medically necessary, but the OP does. ![]() |

What do you know about voluntary induction, what is your experience, any way I can have a good birth with it?
