Ok, please confess

When I look at all these birth pictures, I am also looking at YOU because I want to know what all of y'all look like, It's so funny when I have drawn a little picture in my head of what you look like, then you look totally different.

Do you do this, too?

It isn't like the babies aren't adorable, but I'm looking for the mamma's faces, their hairstyles, the furniture, the linens, anything knitted or quilted... I want the details that I can remember y'all by. So that next time I see your posts I can just know in my heart that it comes from "The lady who made her curtains match her wallpaper" or "The lady whose pantry is full of yummy junk food" or "The lady who has all the same books on her shelf as I do" or something like that. Several of you are known in my head as "The lady with the sexy husband" and "The lady with the adorable haircut." (You know who you are...)

OK so if you are this shallow or goofy as I am, please come out of the closet OK.

And I know ya'll are doing this because otherwise we wouldn't be referencing things we've read in each other's blogs as often, hmmmmmmm Can't hide now, can you?

This is such a funny post. Ok, my confession is two fold...one I always look at the pics and think how clean/organized people's houses are, two for the after birth pictures I always check out the hair because my hair is so short that I just know I will have managed to make it look like a spikey ball by the end of my birth. I think about this to the point that I'm considering giving someone on my birth team the job to wet my hair and put it back down when after shots are happening...how silly is that?!

And yes, people often don't look anything like how I pictured them in my head, and I also love the glimpse into their home.

Yea, I want to see the mamas and papas too. :

Most of mine were very graphic this time around. But if anyone still wants to see, I have birth pics with me in it. Just pm me.

Kittywitty you'll be doing lots of pm'ing, I imagine.

This is hilarious!! Thanks for making me laugh! Of course I check people out. I hate to say it, but I love to know that many people have houses that are not perfectly neat. I love to see how the birth tubs look in people's rooms. I like to see what you WEAR during labor and birth because somehow I'm always in search of the perfect garment that's practical, comfortable, AND attractive, though I know it's nearly impossible to look attractive during a contraction.

Mostly, I'm surprised at how YOUNG everyone looks!

Ok I admit it I'm just as crazt as you!

Ok I admit it I'm just as crazy as you!

oh yeah, I love seeing what everyone looks like, and what their homes and partners look like. I think it's so interesting to me because I've never been part of any kind of online community before (other than Myspace, where I already know just about everyone IRL and it's a totally different set-up). It's like I know everyone virtually and it's cool to be reminded that we all have real lives and three-dimensional bodies, I guess.

I don't know if my dh is the sexy one but all my friends IRL tell me he is a hottie so this thread really made me laugh!!!!! I love seeing what everyone looks like too. I have been surprised by every pic I have seen. I feel better knowing that I am not alone!

this makes me laugh, too - b/c i totally search the photos for "clues" about you guys!

in that spirit, take a look at this one from pearl's birth - dh and i were cracking up at my giant bra hanging from the bureau in the background!

Of COURSE I am looking! I mean, babies are awesome, but families are fascinating. (I feel bad because I haven't posted any pictures yet, other than a few in the birth announcement thread, but it's one of those things that seems overwhelming right now.) I love having pictures of the mamas in my head when I read their posts.

I'm always interested to see if my "idea" of what someone looks like is anywhere close to reality. Usually, not I haven't posted a picture of myself here because right now I look ratty but I will sometime in the future, possibly after my haircut tomorrow when it will be all blow dried and styled. I'm vain like that :

Oh and we didn't take any birth pictures. Just a video. And I look like a caged and rabid animal being electrocuted so there will be absolutely no sharing!

Lol, I always click around people's signatures also, because I like to have faces for names. I never thought about looking in the background (lol @ the bra hanging on the dresser!) and now I have to go through my pictures and see what I didn't know i was broadcasting before. Eak!

LOL- y'all rock. Thanks for admitting. I actually have my kids move all around the house when we snap pics so I can choose the background, they've gotten really good at scotching over just a teeeeeeennnyy bit, and kicking that Tshirt closer to me, girls.

I wasn't talking about anyone specific's husband, but whenever they wear the slings and baby wraps, that turns me on big time!

mostly, though it's about.......
The toddlers (is their hair as messy as my girls? Are they also partially nude, like mine always are?)

The backgrounds (books, pictures, messes, what's the nature of the mess, is it today's toys or filth, decor style, organizational tricks???)

Your hair (I used to be a pro, I"m looking at the color, the texture, the style... mostly the cut and your facial bone structure and not in a judgemental way, like I never think "Oh you need bangs" it's an observational thing and I'm more likely to think "long bank lines emphasizing low browbone" for all it's worth, don't get all hair-paranoid because I said this; I really think everyone is beautiful, I swear. Hair analysis helps me memorize you)

I saw this one pic online several years ago that has STUCK with me. The pic featured a pg gal standing sideways and smiling. You could see the Tv (dusty) and under a bed. UNDER that bed were dustbunnies the size of tumbleweeds! That's when I started my background scans.

And yes, I will position the children so that the house looks better.

Of course! This is why I am addicted to Flickr as well. I love seeing little details. Gives me ideas on so many things! And the little details give up so much more personality than we sometimes show.
