Daily Check-in - 12/26

I can't believe there isn't already a thread...hello? are you still out there?

40+1 - nothing to report. My mom comes back today to stay until baby comes or until New Year's Day, if baby hasn't arrived by New Year's day then she's going back to work when they open on 1/2 and she'll come back when I give THE call. So I'm looking at a pretty busy day of working on stuff with her today probably. I think I'm going to actually run out of stuff to organize if I go too long...that's cool though. We've been doing stuff we should have done when we first moved in but were too busy to get around to.

I had a bit of a hard time sleeping last night but feel mostly rested.

So how's everyone else doing?

I'm here. I ate some really spicy curry last night and was crampy all night and kinda mucousy, but I don't think I'm in labor.

Still here 40+3 nothing going on. I even used the TENS unit last night to see if I could get any action going but nadda. DH leaves tonight for Michigan for 2-3 days I was really trying to be in labor so he wouldn't have to go, no luck. I have a MW appt tomorrow. I checked my cervix but its still incrediably high and postierior but soft and about a finger tip dialated.

I'm here and reporting for duty...where's everyone else? My due date was either yesterday or is coming up on Friday, depending on whom you ask. Now that Christmas is over, I've told the baby that he officially has the green light. I'm still feeling patient, though. I mean, I'm not even technically due yet and I still feel disgustingly good.
I had a little bit of crampy sensations on and off yesterday and this morning, not enough to really make me take notice, but enough to feel like I'm gearing up for the big event.
We had a nice Christmas hanging out with Aaron's family, really low-key and pleasant and stress-free. Aaron gave me the necklace I wanted, but as a total surprise he also got us this matched set of really beautiful rings and he had this speech about how they were a symbol of his promise that he would stay with me and the baby and take care of us and love us. It was incredibly sweet and touching.
We moved in together back in September, and he's sort of brought up the topic of marriage before, but we've agreed that we wouldn't even discuss it until the baby has been around a few months and the dust has settled. Marriage has never been a priority of mine before (my standard quip before this year has been "That's where you can only sleep with one person for the rest of your life, right?"). But with him, the concept of marriage is feeling a lot less scary and instead, somehow strangely appealing. It really feels like we could have a good life together as a family.
Listen to me, I sound like such a girl. Anyway, off to run errands. Labor vibes for whoever wants 'em.

Here. 40 and 3. Today is my son's 11th birthday. He thinks that it would be cool to share his birthday with his new sibling. very few contrax. I feel like I have gone backwards from all the build-up to Christmas. Oh well.

Mainly to see who is "missing" out of the preggos so we can speculate about whether they are in labor or not, but of course everyone is welcome to check in - but only the preggos are required. : Oh yes, and the mamas who have already delivered must share pictures if they want to check in. :

40wks 4d here. Feeling pretty good actually, still allright being pregnant. Just : baby comes before the 1st, for purely financial reasons.

Other than that, I'd be happy with a January baby. I can wait, and my body seems to be handling things well.

No cntrx recently.

No wai, as starry said - you just have to provide pics.
I Love hearing about how you guys are doing postpartum, and hope you guys continue to update us on everything. It helps a lot, gearing up for it mentally and emotionally.

40.6. Nothing new. The longer this goes the more nervous I feel though. Oh well. Dh had to go back to work, he was sad because he wanted to be snuggling a baby. But it's better he wait for the time off. It's actually : here for once, so I'm just going to lay around and be a loaf and eat and read books all day. :

Ok, I don't know about the rest of you, but I realized this morning that the main reason I'm so antsy to have this baby is so that my DH takes some time off from work, and then my mom will come down. DH had a 4-day weekend because of Christmas, and I cried this morning when he left. I am feeling ultra-sensitive and lonely and emotional, and I don't want to play with my kids, and I can hardly move, and I want someone to make me breakfast.

Well I just put up a thread the other day with lots of pictures! I guess I can stay.

As far as postpartum, she is a week and 1 day old. I am feeling good and even ventured Target today with both kids. It was uneventful so that was good for my confidence. I was wondering how they heck I'd ever do anything with 2 kids! I'm still having "butt" issues but other than that nothing to complain about as far as pain or birth related. Even getting *some* sleep at night between nursing. So, it's not bad!

Labor vibes to everyone!

still pg. 39+5. trying my damndest to remain patient. It wouldnt be so hard if i wasnt having so much prodromal labor. sometimes i'll have regular and somwhat painful contractions for hours at a time, and it turns into nothing.
i got our bedroom picked up and very clean yesterday. i feel much better now, that was really bothering me, because most likely i will be birthing in there. My goal today is to get the laundry caught up, and scrub the bathroom. i have a glimmer of hope that if the house is clean, i will relax more, and baby will come.
i would really, really, REALLY like baby to come before saturday, only because my mom is coming. and she is the ONE person in my life who doesnt give me crap about homebirthing.
I have a WIC appointment tomorrow. when i made the appt the woman kept saying "bring the baby with you" and i would say "what if baby isnt born yet" and she must have thought i was insane. i have this paperwork i'm supposed to fill out for the baby, thats still in utero. cant wait to see the look on their faces

40+6 and no signs of labor

Feeling kind of bummed. I just called the maternal-fetal specialist I've been seeing because of my placenta previa to try and squeeze in one more placenta check ultrasound to see if the placenta has moved in to homebirth territory. They said they can't see me without an OB referral. I had it checked at 39w without a referral, but I guess I slipped through that time. Yuck.

Oh, good, now I don't feel so bad for wanting an '07 baby for the tax write off! I mean, they should give it to you anyway since you need to spend so much money preparing for baby, but they don't.
40+4, thought I might go into labor last night since I spent half the day crying my eyes out and I hear that's good for getting labor going, but, hey, if sex, spicy food, massaging pressure points, primrose oil, flower essences, RRL tea, and nettles aren't helping, why should that? :
I'm not as impatient as I sound, though, and am on my way to the Y to walk and swim, then a friend is coming over for tea in front of the fireplace (that should be good for an oxytocin boost, right?).

Ooo - you went out with both of them already by yourself? You're my hero!! Today is DH's first day back at work, and he's only going in from like 10-2 - I've never been more thankful for a TiVo full of Little Bear in my life

We're two weeks and a day PP, and other than some gas issues that make Olivia a little whinier than Isabel was, we're doing well. I'm still trying to figure out ways to explain to Isabel *why* mommy can't be at her beck and call anymore, ways that aren't throwing Olivia under the bus all the time!

Here's a picture for y'all - she's 11 days old
