Colic?

I need some help! For the past 2 days Avye has had crying spurts. At 5am - 7am both yesterday and today she cried nonstop. I couldn't get her to calm down at all. She doesn't want to eat, she doesn't want to do anything it seems but cry. So I end up walking her round and round the living room, singing Christmas carols.
I have heard that some babies just sometimes need to cry for some reason, but have never experienced it before. Could this be it? Can I do anything to help?

Welcome to my world. My first baby cried all the time, but since I could USUALLY get her to stop long enough to breastfeed, I didn't classify it as colic, per se. She eventually grew out of it, but it was rough and there was no real cause. If you can find a cause, great, but often, there's no much you can do. Also, 2 hours of crying isn't THAT unusual. Colic will sometimes make babies cry for much longer.

We resorted to Gripe Water, which sometimes helped.

Just remember, "This, too, shall pass."

I've heard it can have a relation to reflux...

and that either way a chiropractic adjustment can do WONDERS. I didn't learn that fast enough with my first who was SUPER colicky.

Not sure if that helps at all... but mostly I just wanted to send major hugs because I can relate to how tough that is to deal with!

My first was what they classified as colicky but later found out it was reflux and he has a hyatial hernia, my 2nd cried a lot until i treated refulx and now w/ this baby we just got a script from the doc today for reflux meds---- Ive been there and is sooooooo frustrating to not be able to calm down your baby,,,,, hugs,,,, hang in there if its refux hold baby in an upright position helps and not ever laying baby flat

All of mine have done that when my milk first came in. DD went on to have full blown "colic", which actually turned out to be silent reflux and ds1 also had mild reflux. Ds2 hasn't been as bad as the other two, so far.

Hope she's feeling better soon.

Thank you for all your comments. I have wondered if its reflux, as it seems like stomach issues runs in my family. Both my grandma, my dad, and I have major issues with acid reflux from childhood on. So it wouldn't surprise me in the least if that is her issue. And everytime I fed her today she has started crying afterwards.
I definetly will look into a chiropractor for her, as I have heard that they can help.

I have her in the sling for most of the day so that is probably why she doesn't cry as much during the day.
