To DO lists - Page 2

You gals have inspired me! I need to get it written down or I may forget something!
  • Install car seat bases
  • Finish address list for Announcements
  • Figure out where I'm going to print them (self designed)
  • START sewing dust ruffle and curtains (and hopefully finish )
  • Pack bag for hospital
  • Get place organized/cleaned for guests and my sanity
  • Find PT daycare

All of this should be easier to accomplish once I'm on maternity leave, but I move so slow these days who knows!!

MamaFern - Massage DH gave me a spa gift certificate for Christmas!! I can't wait to use it!

Here's mine...what I can think of right now, anyhow.

This probably won't be complete, thanks to preggo-brain:

1. Pack hospital bag
2. Stencil/finish decorating baby's bedroom
3. Finish clearing clutter out of master closet and take stuff to Goodwill.
4. Get hospital pre-reg paperwork in (oops...was supposed to do this 2 weeks ago)
5. Install car seat
6. Cook more freezer meals (I totally petered out on that)

Really, I think that's it. The cloth diapers (which I may not use right away) are washed and ready to go. Her clothes are washed and ready to go. I think we're just about ready.

I got a lot of stuff done, so this is what's left:

- pack hospital bag (um, yeah, maybe I should do that sometime soonish...)
- finish the downstairs bathroom (not gonna happen in time)
- find an acceptable boy name
- make up a list of people who need to be notified

That should be about it, I think...

I can never seem to motivate myself to check items off my list- until I get a few hours of "false" labour and then I'm a whirlwind of vacuming, cooking and packing.
or crud ... guess i should edit my list and add "pick a name" to it, lol.

Too much to do!

- Install carseat
- Finish picking out music and visuals for birth center bag
- Pack birth center bag
- Find a coming home outfit
- Wash baby clothes/blankets
- Rearrange DD's dresser to make room for baby clothes/blankets
- Figure out the CD situation (I have lots of covers but very few diapers)
- Clean house really really well
- Make new sling/wrap
- PICK OUT A GIRL NAME!

Where is my nesting urge?

I think I have lists for lists.

1. Pack a bag. : (I did this is labor with my second but I am trying to be more prepared this go around, so far no such luck)

2. Finish (okay start) his layette. I am knitting him longies, a kimono, hat and booties. Ahem, and I have yet to start. (I've been sick that my "excuse")

3. Wash all dipes and lanolize all wool

4. Buy things like, oh, anything....LOL I want a pack and play so I have somewhere to change him. A crib mattress for the side car crib, a bouncy seat and/or a swing would be fantastic so I can cook and/or shower or perhaps even put him down for a moment without thing1 and thing2 pouncing on him.

5. Buy a baby book to take so that we can get footprints

I know that there is more but my list is alllll the way over there and I am allll the way over here.

OK....list time! I need to:

Pack bag for birth (which will include the night shirt I purchased today)

Find dd's original carseat in the attic and install it

Remind dd to get my car inspected & oil changed

Wash newborn outfits/blankets/covers for swing/wrap

Make CD for birthing

Review hypnobirthing relaxation techniques with dh

I'm sure there is so much more, especially with regards to packing the birth bag. I'm planning to stay at home for as long as possible, but I also want to make sure that I have what I need for post-partum as well. Plus, I am such a picky eater that half my bag will likely be food related :

Good luck accomplishing the lists!!!

I have never done that before but we were thinking about trying it.. where do you usually buy your supplies?

We got our belly cast supplies at Hobby Lobby. hth

Here's what's left on my list:

Pack birth center bag
Update the Ipods (music for me and movies on the other one for dd1)
Embroider, sew, and serge final dipes and covers
Tie-dye prefolds and mama cloth
Belly cast
Stock the pantry so we don't have to run out for anything
Wrap and pack Baby's gift to her big sister (I'm the Big Sister shirt and a vintage Little Golden Book called Baby Dear)

What are you guys planning for afterpains? It's been 5+ years since I birthed dd1 (first birth - no pains), so I don't know if I'll get them or how bad they'll be if I do. I'd like to be prepared with something just in case. tia!

Wishgarden's AfterEase is supposed to be great for the afterpains. I am ordering some this week and hope to avoid the excruciating pains I had after my 2nd baby was born.

this time i just got the stuff at michael's, and used a 50% off coupon, so it only cost me $10. first time i bought a kit online, and second time i was gifted a kit.

all you really need besides the plaster wrap stuff is olive oil. i'll never use vaseline again after the first time. yuck! lol

Hey impromptukiss,

I was wondering, the plaster gauze "rigid wrap" that you found at Michael's? I'm guessing that is what you are going with because I too found the same stuff and it looked like a much better way $$$$-wise....anyways did you get the big rolls or a few of the small? And did you do it already? And how did it go?

This will be my first time.....hopefully that is if I can find someone to help me do it before this baby comes. I think it's going to be my husband which will be perfect I think.

Thank you so much for anything you write back!!!

yes - that is it! i got 2 packs of the big rolls. they were about $10ea before coupons. it's basically the size of 4 smaller ones, which came with each of the kits i've had before. and with the coupon, gave me more bang for my buck, lol!

we will cut them in half width-wise, to make them the same size at the shorter rolls. then in pieces varying 6-12" long.

we're going to do this one tomorrow. i always get short of breath and queasy towards the middle fo rsome reason and end up having to rip it off for a minute, lol. i don't know why ... my position maybe? but by then it's dry enough where it doesn't mess it up. also, olive oil worked 100X better for us than vaseline. the vaseline took DAYS to get off my skin. it was a nightmare! just make sure you're coated pretty well, it will stick to a lose hair or two if you miss it!

here are my other two

FROM SIDE
