"undercarriage" is dh's term for my whole groin area, and i have a problem. it seems that constant maxi pad use has irritated the skin next to my labia, where my inner thigh and labia meet. i actually have a layer of skin kind of bubbling and peeling off... and it's just getting worse and worse, and the area is getting bigger and bigger.

needless to say, it f-ing KILLS if my panties rub it in the wrong way, and sometimes i don't even want to walk. my vagina feels pretty normal from the birth - except now i have this problem!

i've switched from using naturecare pads to strips of an old sheet that i had - or just bleeding into my old underwear. i long to not wear undies at all, but i'm still having some spotting.

i've been applying A + D ointment to the raw bits, and sometimes vit. E oil.

i'd love some advice on ANYTHING that will speed the healing. help me ladies, PLEASE!

Did you try coconut oil? Maybe mixed with a tiny bit of lavendar?

Can you just sit on a prefold? (or if you're not CD'ing, a burp cloth you don't mind sacrificing?)

Thats what I would do too. Can you sit around the house with no pants, and just sit on a towel? Or do you have company in and out? Air is the best thing, kinda like a baby's diaper rash. Sposie pads give me a similar rash, as well as cloth pads that have microfleece.

Tucks pads should help. Epsom bath.

oww mamma i would try herbal sitz baths and some healing salve with comfrey, plantain & chickweed if you can find it. if you can keep anything from rubbing it till it can heal up thats the best..

After dd1 was born, I had the same issue from using sposie pads. The only thing that worked for me was using her diaper rash spray (we had the kissaluv diaper lotion potion), and applying the burt's bees diaper rash cream to the affected area. I felt funny, since my baby didn't even have a rash, but here I was with a "diaper" rash of my own! Since I've been using cloth this time, I've had no such issues, which has made healing much, much easier. I would agree with pp that the best thing would be spending as much time as you can with no sposie pads against your skin and as much air as you can as well.

My postpartum sitz bath herbs are uvi ursa, sea salt, and yarrow, I think. Lavendar is also good.

Hope you are feeling better soon.
