I want to name my preschool co-op that I am getting ready to participate in and wanted to give it a cute name. Any suggestions? If you don't mind me copying LMK what your name is.

Thanks.

Winding Paths Homeschool or Winding Paths Academy depending on which form I am filling out. One is obviously a homeschool the other isn't.

The Paideia Academy.

I : the word Paideia.

Paideia is a Greek word that's mostly meaningless outside of context. It can mean "child rearing", "education", "cultural/ moral development", "discipline" and many similar things.

Here's one of the best definitions I've seen of the word Paideia

Paideia: "the training of the physical and mental faculties in such a way as to produce a broad enlightened mature outlook, harmoniously combined with maximum cultural development."

Wow you guys, those are great names. I was more along the lines of Smart Cookies, until I asked this question....now I going to broaden my thinker .

Ours is called Pixiekids Homeschool.

The girls and I haven't named ours yet. However, dh and I joke between ourselves about our "Academy for Very Loud Girls."

We've been calling ours Freedom Adventure Academy. I might come up with something better, though.

I've always wanted to give us a name. On the educator discount forms where it asks for "school name", I always put "Homeschool", :

Keep 'em coming guys. I'd love some inspiration, too!

I really like these!!

I was ordering something on-line and needed a school name for the teacher discount and came up with

Three Cedars Primary

I'm not in love with the name and will change it when I find something I like better. I have 3 littles and cedar seemed like a cool tree.
And our little insignia is John Bonham's 3 circle ruin. :

It varies. I either call it [our last name] Academy for Girls or [our last name] Academy for Home Education. Sometimes when someone asks what school my girls attend, I'll say [our last name] Academy for the Gifted.

I've tried to come up w/ something clever--nothing yet.

My six year old DS is entirely responsible for our unwieldy name: Dogwood Forest Creek School

I used the meanings of my children's names. Genevieve is Fair one and Gwendolyn is moon goddess so the name is Fair moon hs

we don't have one yet, but we're thinking. i want "something Academy". my kids want "something Homeschool. I want to be a little more creative than just our "Last Name Homeschool", mmmm...maybe i need to hit the dictionary and find some cool words that would describe our mission at our homeschool.

any words for "maintaining some semblence of peace and order amidst general chaos while attempting some academic pursuits"

I used to have a home daycare called Creative Play School. When I started homeschooling, I changed it to Creative Play Bilingual Homeschool, school, or academy, depending on what I'm filling out. I use Homeschool on homeschool forms, school for the daycare, and academy for the purchase order I have to fill out for this company that sells native language texts. One day, I'll stick to one name.

I was just thinking about this! We live near a park, so I've been thinking about Lindenwood Day School. However, since our learning is not restricted to the day, perhaps Lindenwood Academy.

More realistic names might be the Barely Controlled Chaos Academy or the School for Highly Energetic Children.

LOL, some of these are cracking me up! We have a (joking) name along the same lines - "(lastname) School fo Wayward Girls"

The name we actually tell people, though, is Epiphany Prep School. (for wayward girls LOL)
