Growth Spurts?

When do the babies usually have growth spurts? And do they sleep more during them as well as eat more?

they say at 3 weeks and 6 weeks and I forget the ones for later than that. I don't know you "they" are though, and honestly I've never noticed any change at 3 weeks or at 6 weeks for my daughters. But then I've heard that because both my girls were born at 37 weeks I should be calculating the 3 weeks and 6 weeks by their due date. So perhaps I didn't catch it because I didn't notice to look.

From kellymom:

Common times for growth spurts are during the first few days at home and around 7-10 days, 2-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months and 9 months (more or less). Babies don't read calendars, however, so your baby may do things differently.
Olivia's two weeks and a day, and over the last 24 hours, I've definitely suspected a growth spurt. She's started tapping out one side and switching to the other for a little while before nodding off

i think kieran is going through one, and honestly i'm worried that i'm not producing enough for him - it seems like he sits and sucks forever with very few swallows after his normal 5-10 minute feeding. here's to hoping my milk supply catches up

with my kids, I've always noticed their sleep pattern changing just before a growth spurt. They spend a day or two sleeping practically every minute, then the next couple days in marathon nursing mode.

dd2 will be 1 week old tomorrow (oops, I mean today--it's later than I realized!) and she was so sleepy yesterday that I could barely keep her awake enough to get a decent feed! But she got serious about it nearly three hours ago, and has barely come up for air since!
