Beading/ Jewelry Question

Thread Starter
Well, I have been throwing around the idea with my dh of making some beaded jewelry to sell; and my Xmas gift was some "start-up" money from dh to get some supplies going

Anyhow, I am looking for a good place to buy supplies; beads, clasps, nylon thread, etc. I will be focusing on amber, hematite and wood for now......Does anyone have any good places to buy beads????? There are so many choices out there

TIA

As a jewelry maker, I would recommend Fire Mountain Gems to begin! Good Luck

getting hooked up with a local bead shop may be a good idea as someone just starting out. that way, you can get help with how to bead, in addition to all the start up supplies you will want. the employees are usually so helpful and enthusiastic at bead shops. the owner/s are usually there pretty often, too so you can get lots of help and inspiration.

I also see a lot of people recommending Fire Mountain Gems and they seem to have good project ideas.
Also look at Ohiobeads.com

Don't forget about thrift shops for beads. You can re-purpose a lot of old jewelry.
