Anyone else not have the choice to rest during the day?

I have three non napping children who can't watch out for themselves at all, so taking naps during the day is impossible to do. In fact, laying down and just resting is impossible because then I get jumped on and wrestled with. Is there anyone else that is suffering through the third trimester exhausted mentally and physically with me? Or do you all manage to sneak naps in during the day?

Sometimes I look back at being pregnant with my first and man... it was SO much easier then.

Me, me me!!! I have a non-napping 2 year old and I also babysit for a 2.5 year old (10 hours/week), a 1 year old (27 hours/week) and a 4 month old (30 hours/week). Sometimes I can get all the daycare kids to nap at the same time but it doesn't matter because my own bouncing baby boy will be up and running around! Dh works full time and goes to school 2 nights a week after work until 10:30 pm. Sometimes I just can't take it anymore so I close the door to the playroom, lay down on the bed and drift in and out of consciousness while ds plays with his toys.

Nap? What's that?????? Sounds like something I might like....

Anyone have a spare nanny laying around?

Given that I'm at my desk from about 8:30-6:00, and then go home and scare something up for dinner, followed by laundry (we're still cleaning up from the aftermath of 2 solid weeks of family visits and Christmas)...

Sincerely,

I work from 11-2 or 3 and come home and SOMETIMES I am able to take a nap. But there is always something to do. Yesterday, I passed out and my husband came home from work because he got worried when I didn't answer my phone. I was too exhausted to do anything. I didn't clean my house at all yesterday and I need to do laundry yesterday so badly but that didn't get done. Papa Johns made DH's dinner last night too, lol. I was so lazy!

I can't nap either. The girls are in pre-k, but I wah during those hours so napping isn't an option. Dh leaves about 6:10am (the kids are up at 5:30 :yawning: ) and he usually doesn't get home until after they are in bed (6:00 or so) so I'm doing the day solo. I've been crashing about 8 but I dont' sleep so well so I'm basically tired all day.

Running on fumes...

I have been so exhausted at work, I think to myself that I should just go home and then I remember that I can't nap there either so I might as well stay and get paid. I need to save my leave for when the baby comes too so it's just not worth it to have to make up the hours later either.

Full time job, DH is in Iraq, and my 17 mo keeps me hopping... on top of it, I am up every hour or so to pee throughout the night... and more often than not I am fighting for space on my bed all night too... how is that a 23 pounder can take up all but ten inches of my queen sized bed?

Napping is just a fantasy, on the weekends I have so much to catch up on that there is just no way I can take a break.

I can't wait til hubby is home!

I usually don't get to nap, but have been SICK yesterday and today (and home alone with the four kids while dh is at work) and my 2 year old is feeling a big under the weather himself, so I've actually napped with him on the futon for an hour or so the past few days. Now...if I could only get some sleep at NIGHT!!! Between being sick, my back/hips hurting, pregnancy insomnia, and a 5 year old who either wakes in the middle of the night with a bad dream or a hurting leg (which I'm going to bring her back to the doctor for if it doesn't let up soon - she's been complaining about the same leg for months now and the doc said it was nothing ), I haven't gotten much sleep lately.

I also have a non-napping, bundle of energy 2 year old. Although I have been falling asleep before her in bed at night, but she's the type that will stay in bed until she falls asleep too. (WHEW!)

No rest for the weary, indeed!

Not only am I not resting during the day, but I've got a nursing, co-sleeping 2.5 year old who doesn't let me sleep, either.

I'm TIRED. Harumph. My husband is on patrol, so it's just Poppy and I until my parents come out in Feb. So I'm bored, tired, sore and lazy.

Yes, I have non-napping 5- and 2-year-olds. Until this week I was also working taking care of two other children each day. I'm not having any pregnancy-related issues with sleeping, but my kids wake me up between 4 and 6 am. I'm not usually able to get to bed until 11 or 12 pm.

Yep I'm on my feet 8 hours a day at least at work, then get home to ds who doesn't like the thought of me lying down at all...and I want to play with him since I haven't seen him all day. Most nights I wake up needing to pee and I'm so tired I fall back asleep then wake up feeling like my bladder is going to explode as I finally waddle to the bathroom with one eye open. All I can say is thank goodness I live near my mom, she's my lifesaver, on my days off she'll watch ds for 4-5 hours so that I can go to my appts and try and do things like grocery shopping in peace and maybe lie down for an hour or two- my body just doesn't know how to nap because I never get the opportunity. I look back at ds1's pregnancy and I had it MADE! I was a full-time student and quit working at 5 months pregnant! But what doesn't kill ya makes you stronger right?

Well, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one forced to nurse all night long, get no sleep, and then start the day at 5am straight through to midnight where the cycle starts all over again. I think I might be the only one forced to sleep on the floor though. Which royally... sucks. Hard. :

Nope, you're not the only one.

I'm right there with you all! I have 5.5 yo twin girls, and a 14m old. I wake up in the morning exhausted (and achy, ligament pain, muscle cramps, achy hips and shoulders...) I'd love a nap. For a week. In Bermuda.
