Ok today is the last day for week 16 for me. (my weeks go from wed-tues)

Today Dh has promised me that he will take care of the bathroom. He has been putting it off all week.

Right now he is sleeping on the couch. Will he get it done? If he starts it will he finish it? Will he halfass it? How long will it take him?

It is easy... If he wants to not hear me complain about it everyday he will do it and do it right. I've only been asking him to do it for months now.

I WANT IT DONE!!! Is it too much to ask for? I've been up to my ears in laundry this week. I've almost got it done too!

I told my husband straight-out the other day that if there is a moment when I am being a brat (or worse) it's because I'm going nesting-crazy and he hasn't done what I asked him to do or he hasn't asked if I need help.
My husband is one of those guys that NEEDS a warning! Otherwise he won't know what hit him.
I made him a list (a couple copies actually) and post them in places he'll see. Sometimes I write a Today To-do List, where I list all the crap I'm doing (sorting papers, cooking meals, looking over insurence, cleaning out cupboards, going to the store, and blah blah blah) along with the ONE thing I want him to do that day. Usually it makes him feel grateful to do things like vaccuum, take boxes to good will, clean the bathroom, do laundry.
Don't know if this will help but overall, husbands are silly and your husband isn't the only one who "forgets" to do something.

Ha! I do make those lists for him. We have to be at his moms in an hour.. and he is still sleeping on the couch. He still hasn't got a shower today (he went to work for 4 hours) so I don't see that bathroom getting cleaned. So tonight I'm going to think really hard about something that will make me sad and cry so I can cry "over the bathroom" not getting clean and make him wish he had done it... because he is mean and let me down and made me cry (when what I really want to do is : but might work better. The other hasn't seemed to get him doing it. (Like I said MONTHS!!!)

Some might say that it would be easier for me to do.. but I didn't make the f*cking mess! And I'm doing every thing else.

Who would say that? Like, you don't have enough to do already. SHOW THEM THE LIST and kick them in the shins!

I asked my dh to move the futon out of the spare room so I can start the demo work ( we need to tear down to bare walls) redo everything inc electrical/ insulation for the nursery.

He told me I am not nesting I am Fidgety and if I do the demo work that means I have lit a fire under his butt to do the rest.... Does he know me or what.... however I am nesting not fidgety.

Hey at least it will get done then I can start on most of my other things on my list... That keeps growing.

wow - this is inspiring me to get a list together. we're getting so much done, but i don't really notice each item until afterwards, LOL.

most of our stuff is general house/business/prep stuff, not so much BABY stuff. someone asked me today which room would be the baby's room. i told her. she said, 'do you have a theme?' i blinked at her, and said, 'it'll be the room with all the baby-junk in it!'

ha! i crack myself up.

Another thing checked off my list!
I've realized some of it has to be done "out of order" but as long as it's done that's all I care about!

Dude, what is it with the "themed" nurseries? No offense to anyone who has done one or plans to, but it just seems like another way for the cartoon character companies to suck more money from new parents! So, I guess our "theme" is no friggin' theme - the nursery will be tastefully decorated in a way that does not make me or DH want to stab ourselves in the eyes (i.e., won't require redecorating because we're sick of fairies in a year) with mostly gender neutral decor that can be reused if we have a boy down the road.

In other news, I am 2/3 finished knitting a baby blanket and placed an order for a starter stash of diapers this morning. I feel like I've accomplished something. This weekend I plan to embark on a multi-weekend decluttering marathon. I can hardly wait.

I always refer to the bedroom that I'm working on making usable as "ds's" room - I always use the quotes because he'll probably never actually use that room. He enjoys Mommy & Daddy's bed so much I think he'll be a late mover-outer. I just call it "his" room because it's where we keep his clothes!

this is what i'm anticipating... the room in question is currently an art studio/study, full of books, sewing stuff, art supplies, a drafting table, and an embarassingly large VHS tape collection that one of these days will have to get ripped to our computers (aha! add that to the 'baby to-do list!')

if we clear enough room by the time kiddo gets here, for a dresser to hold his onesies and with a top big enough for a changing table, i'll be JUST fine with that.

LOL @ the fairies comment!

I hate "themed" nurseries. Especially ones with super tacky themes. Definitely just a scam to get people to pay hundreds of dollars for more crap.

I also hate that suddenly bf and I decided to move this weekend! Which seemed like a good idea, but now I have a ton of work to do to make moving possible. And it's so snowy out and you can't drive the truck anywhere close to our house, so I'll be carrying boxes through the snow and inevitably falling down over and over. This is going to be a pain.

Hmmm...

My list is still quite short:

1. Have baby.

2. Maybe do the laundry.

3. Naptime.

So after posting my list I got motivated and went out and bought the birth ball. One item down!

I've been totally avoiding this thread b/c it made me feel like the biggest slacker!! But....

this wknd DH decided to tackle painting the baby room (ok, really it is the baby/office/craft/guest room) and it looks SO great and now I am feeling excited
and motivated to move furniture in there and get everything all ready. Feels great to get that done! Go DH.
I added potty train DD to my list, and we begin today! I also plan on trying to get the rest of our room cleaned out...did a lot yesterday but not quite finished.

I feel like I've accomplished a few things. Prefold diapers and some covers are ordered and I've knitted the first of what will be several wool soakers. I did the newborn size of the LTK Ribby Wrap and OMG it is so freakin' cute!!! I'm also 85% done knitting a baby blanket. I found a pouch-style sling at the local baby gear store on clearance for super cheap - like less than $20 - and also picked up a couple of nursing bras since I've outgrown the bras I bought in the 1st trimester and dammit, the girls need room! I have started the Great Purge and Decluttering of 2008 - the dent is tiny, but it's a start. And the baby shower is scheduled. Whew! Nonetheless, I still feel as though the calendar is my enemy.

Wow... All last week I felt as if I was hit by a train. I got nothing done and I'm so upset with myself. I'm trying to get moving today but still don't feel up to it. I have the windows open seeing how it is such a wonderful day outside, so I hope that gives me a boost.

I think this weekend I'm going to talk MIL into coming over and helping me out some, and talking her husband into changing out light switches and outlets. It has only been a year since we started that project and all that's been done is the living room, dinning room one hall, 2 random light switches because it was an have too thing and a out let or two in the kitchen because they were shot. So we still need to finish one hall, the kitchen, both bathrooms and all 3 bedrooms.

Also dh's car still needs the head light fixed but the problem seems to be hard to get to.

Right now I'm looking at 3 baskets full of clothes I need to deal with and put away, but all I want to do is take a nap.
