Itching!!!!!!

Is anyone else extremely itchy?? My belly keeps getting this nasty rash (pupps, more than likely) + it's driving me insane. All I do is scratch my belly, whether I'm at work or at home... I feel like I rolled in poison ivy! I got rid of the rash by smearing olive oil everywhere and drinking dandelion tea, but, it seems that it's returned. And it's spread to other parts to!!

Help! Am i the only one? If not, what are you all doing for relief? I hear the only real cure is to have the baby...

I had PUPPS with my first pregnancy. It was a rash only in my stretch marks. It was crazy itchy! I found that oatmeal baths work!

My best friend had pupps....there is a thread around here somewhere where she posted advice about what worked for her to someone else who thought she might have it. I'll see if I can find it and link to it for you.

Pupps

Well I think I have PUPPS. I have bumps on my stretch marks. I havent noticed it anywhere eles yet, hopefully it doesnt spread. Eiik! Three more weeks of this!!!! But I guess at least now I know. I have found that a cold cloth helps relieve the itch at night time. Other than that lotions or anti itch creams have not helped. The link above gives some other good suggestions that I am going to try, like Oatmeal baths or Oatmeal soap. I will let people now how it goes.

i don't have puppps but i do have some itchy spots that wont go away....my belly button itches so bad that i have scratched it till i busted blood vessels. and i guess it is hemoroids or something but my butt itches uncontrollably. especially at night. (TMI to follow) sometimes i have to wake up to scratch my butthole.

Oh, sounds miserable mamas! If lotion is not lasting maybe try some lanolin...it will keep it moist longer and maybe help with the itchy a bit?

My belly gets itchy but only because it's soooo stretched out that my skin is constantly dry. It's a good thing she'll be here soon because if she got any bigger she'd explode out of me!

Remedy

So I called my midwife today to tell her that I believe I have PUPPP's. She said are you taking prenatal vitamins? Yes I am. She said stop taking them. This is an indication that your liver is being over worked/overrun and the rash should clear up in a few days. She emphasised that I need to supplement with an extra good diet though through food. She said drink lots of water to help flush out your liver.

We will see if this works and I will let others know. But it might be good to also start it yourself.
