Odor

Thread Starter
I'm anti-RIC but as I get closer to having a son some day, I have more and more questions about intact penises, as I do not have much real life experience.

My questions are not about intact babies and boys. I understand the basic care and hygiene for them. My questions is about intact men. For those of you who have (or had in the past) intact male partners, did you ever notice an odor (either during sex or in other situations)?

I have a close female friend who dated an uncut guy, and she said he did not smell bad, but when you got really close, had a natural scent, in the same way the vagina does.

I've known two uncut men in an intimate way. I can honestly say about them the same thing I can say about my circumcised husband - as long as the guy bathes on a regular basis, no odors. I wouldn't dare ask for, eh hmm, oral, if I I hadn't bathed for a while. I also wouldn't give it if the person had been working in the sun all day w/o bathing, or skipped a shower for 3 days. So, I dunno. My lovers have always bathed beforehand, as I have, so it hasn't been an issue. The "funny odor, funny taste" has never been an issue in my personal life.
Sorry if that was TMI for anyone.

no difference !! every intact guy I've been with never went thru xtra cleaning ritual... & they were just fine.

Everyone just has their own natural odor. I haven't noticed a difference when it comes to circ status... One of the "manly-est" smelling guys I know is circ'ed.

However, one guy I was intimate with, I swear had some kind of "scent gland" that would release when he orgasmed. He would smell totally normal the instant before and about 10 minutes after, but had this insanely distinct orgasm odor... and honestly, I don't know whether he was circ'ed or not. I think he was, but I've slept since then. How's that for TMI?

Nothing different than the natural smell of a vagina but much less potent.

Why would there be a difference? It's all about hygiene isn't it?

I never understood the "easier to clean, smells better, no smegma buildup" reasons for circumcision. I mean, women have SO many folds. I have no issue with any of that because I wash. I have an odor, but it's my regular, musky scent. Not bad. I imagine it's the same for anyone who cares about their health and hygiene for that matter.

My partner is circumcised, but even he has an odor and it's his natural scent. When he comes in from cycling 70 miles, on the other hand ... yea, he needs a shower.

:

All genitalia have some kind of scent.

I've never smelled a circumcised man's penis, since I'm a married heterosexual man, but are they truly odorless??? :

Not in my experience. Which is limited to my circumcised partner, admittedly. But he has a scent. Less than mine, but it's definitely his own personal musky "male" genital odor. Though, he is basically odorless right after a shower. But, within a few hours, there is a scent.

And that was probably way too much information about my partner's genitals than anyone wanted to know. I can just see his face if he read this, lol.

Thanks for that insight.

So where on earth did the myth that circumcised penises are odorless come from??? :

In my experience all penises have some smell, but it varies widely in both streangth and flavor from individual to individual. The strongest scent I encountered was from a particular circ'd man. The only intact one (not counting baby diaper changes) I've been close enough to to notice was pretty normal smelling.

Nah, they usually just smell/taste like laundry soap, clothes, and sweat to me though.

Most of my sexual partners have been intact. And, except for the very first (when I was much younger and shyer than with the others), I've never been all that shy about getting my, um, nose close to their bits.

Other than their own personal body/skin/genital smells (everyone has their own scent, men and women alike; and armpits for ex. do not smell exactly the same as stomachs, knees, etc., the same thing goes for genitals), I never noticed any kind of "odor problem" with their bits due to their intact status. Not any more than the few circed partners I've had.

Of course, some (both cut and uncut) have gotten stinky from time to time, but its always been a whole-body hygiene thing. If a guy's sweaty and stinky and not washing then he's gonna smell everywhere--especially body parts that get sweaty and sometimes stay sweaty longer than others (pits, feet, crotch), regardless of circ status.

That said, one did get a funky unpleasant smell on his genitals from time to time, but it had nothing to do with his being intact and everything to do with his not changing his boxers regularly and walking around in dirty boxers (to the point of crusty pee-drip stains--YUCK!!).

"Odor problems" have nothing to do with circumcision. Nothing. If they exist, they come from personal hygiene issues, or from personal body composition/diet/etc. If any one person is going to be smelly, they will be smelly, regardless of whether or not they are circed.

If you haven't washed I'm sure everything down below isn't going to smell like roses whether you are circ'd, intact or are a female.

I've noticed an odour, only when naked not through clothes, when the undies come off after a day of hiking or sweating in the summer. But it's sweaty balls, not intact penis. My dh is intact and I have never noticed anything distasteful, smell wise (I'm super sensitive) except for the summertime end of the day ball sweat. Then he hops into the shower and everything is fine.

Does my husband have an odor? Of course he has an odor! My husband is human! People stink!

But you know what? I stink, too! And it's okay, because I'm a person, and people are stinky!

But a little soap and water, and everything is all better. But don't put soap in your vagina or up your penis - it burns.

Self conscious cut guys?

Women more concerned with form than function?

Proponents of circumcision?
