Honestly, I think the problem is that when you hand a woman a newborn baby, she's inclined to (at least momentarily) forgive a multitude of abuses . . .

I know that even though one of my OBs was more aggressive than I would have liked and caused a tear, and a Pediatrican really went against my wishes (small time vs. episitomy w/o consent, I realize), I was filled with benevolence and forgiveness after the birth of my baby.

I agree, though, that one of the first steps is to file lots of complaints . . . Another important step is to inform other women. (Sometimes women are like 'it can't happen to me' though . . . )
