I think we just had our first growth spurt?

Last night, out of the blue, my normally low-key baby was INCONSOLABLE
for about 6 hours straight. Screaming bloody murder and only taking the breast for minutes at a time before screaming again. I just kept switching him from left to right for hours. At one point I thought maybe he wasn't getting enough and that was why he was so upset. During all this time he was very alert during screaming sessions and he was awake longer than I've ever seen him.

I'm going to keep an eye on him in case there is an allergy involved, but this morning he seems back to his regular self. :Yesterday he was 10 days old. On the plus side all that nursing seemed to work out a suspected plugged duct.

Anyone else's LO have an episode similar or out of normal range of behavior? Anything else I should keep an eye out for?

Our little low-key Peanut did the same thing the last two nights (Thursday and Friday), but w/o the screaming (as long as we kept a breast in her mouth). We're hanging out w/DH in his barracks right now, & are trying to keep a low profile as far as noise is concerned. The "30 seconds of nursing on this side before I get upset" thing is driving me crazy. Plus, she seems to have forgotten how to latch & is just taking the tiniest bit of breast tissue in her mouth. I'm trying to correct her, but I'm not doing it every time, just in the interest of finding a balance of comfy, efficient nursing & calm, not crazy baby. Oy!
