What will happen to this child?

This is a link to a picture in the Circumcision Complications section of an anti-circ site (WARNING - DISTURBING PHOTO):

http://www.circumcisionquotes.com/images/slide3.jpg

The site describes it as an "untidy" circ, which sounds fairly trivial, but looking at the picture it looks like a much more severe problem. I always cringe when I hear of someone wanting to recirc because they were unhappy with the result, but if this is the result what should they do? Will this child heal, or should he get some kind of reconstructive surgery?

I could be totally off, it's just one photo... but, it looks like they left the inner foreskin and excisied the rigged band and outer (looks like the scar where shaft skin ends). The frenar band is gone, so the closing mechanism is gone, which would be why it is "ruffled."

And I would bet that a doctor would recommend re-circ'ing to correct it (cut off everything else).

Restoration is possible, through stretching the remaining shaft skin. Possibly having surgery to narrow the tip once the shaft skin was long enough (just like described in the restoration stickie). But this would be done as a teen or adult, not as a child.

That's my site. I was given a copy of thoase slides in 2002 at a convention about genital integrity. The labels are what were on the slides.

Thanks, I really appreciate your site. It's helpful to see actual pictures, too. Did anyone at the convention discuss what happened to this child, or what should be done to correct it?
