I told ya, it's that corporate-style governance, courtesy of the Bush administration and the Republicans. Jeez, those soldiers should just be happy they have a JOB, fer chrissakes, right?? What are THEY complaining about?

I don't think Bush has commented yet and there are several plans in Congress to make the pay raises permanent.

Doubt it!

Of course Bush is in favor of cutting the pay of soldiers in Iraq. By pushing through totally irresponsible tax cuts for his fat-cat friends, he has already indicated that he is not concerned about spending money for the benefit of the people he rushed into an unneccessary and illegal war.

The delicious irony, of course, is that many members of the armed forces voted for Bush... this is just desserts, as far as I am concerned.

Oh for the love of!

READ the article. Do outside research if you like... The PENTAGON is asking to cut the soldiers pay. Who runs the Pentagon? The military!!!! Soldiers! Generals and Admirals and such....

Read carefully, know what you are talking about!

Or, I suppose you could just stick with a knee jerk response. It is much easier than thinking.

But, you DO realize that the Pentagon was granted an increased budget...............and is apparently thinking more about missle defense than pay for the soldiers. They have to meet their increased budget.

It sucks. And Bush is just lucky to be out of the loop here and can remain silent..................

Food for thought:

Reducing the Pentagon Budget, Maintaining Security

Bush's Pentagon Budget and the Lessons of Enron and Afghanistan

FY 2004 Pentagon Budget

There is so much to chew on, I couldn't post it here..................

The one thing that always sticks in my craw is the total waste of dollars that has gone on for 30+ yrs unabated. I'm sick of spending $500 for a screwdriver and $350 for a toilet seat.................when will it stop? Why can't congress hold them accountable?

Who do you think Bush is....

he is the Commander and Chief of the military. He is not separate from them, he is part of them.

Yes, sometimes we forget that! He certainly doesn't seem worthy of his title nor has he any understanding of what he is putting our military people through. He really doesn't give a rat's ass..................

As far as "knee jerk responses" go...........

I think that pretty much describes GW's entire presidency...........

Knee jerk reactions with no forethought or regard for outcomes...
